And pain has no intrinsic relationship to dominance and submission.

So your top, not dom, has said on his scale you're a masochist on a level of 1 - 10. Good for you. BTW, what happens after he 'trains' you to be a 10? He dumps you for someone new who he can start training all over again? Because that's what usually happens for those for whom the goal is more important than the journey.
