Un. Fucking. Believable. Point two: Borrowed the gun from another department of the school? I thought guns were not allowed on campus. Is this an oversight or the lack of it?

It would be interesting to hear what his motivation was. Perhaps he might have had a bit of an episode. I'm surprised more teachers don't go batshit insane.

I expect had he been a lousy shot or his elbow got bumped somehow he could have put one of the kids eyes out or done some other type of serious damage.. I guess some people dont think that was a big deal.. someone did tho cuz it warrants multiple class 6 felony charges.. I guess even 60 year old teachers can learn a few things..

If it is simply sound and not firing anything then at least the kids werent in actual danger.. If he had an episode, he should have found a different way to vent.. Interesting that even if it doesnt fire anything, the act of using it warrants felony charges.. But there are a lot of things that you can be charged with a felony for even tho they dont seem like a big thing.. Of course unless you have studied law for a gazillion years, most people dont know these things until they wind up in the stew..

I just thought that if he was in semi-possession of even basic rational faculties, he would have known that he was instantly destroying his career and possibly facing real jail time. Again, no such thing as blank bullets. Prop guns do not fire or send any projectile - that would be very dangerous! Any description, including "starter pistol" or blanks means no projectiles, period. You ran with the ignorance of the article's author and expanded on it based on being misinformed.

Prop guns do not fire "dummy bullets which are sometimes called blanks." They fire no projectiles whatsoever. The dummy rounds in the link you posted are empty cartridges (no primer or powder) with a bullet crimped into the case in order to look like a real round. They CANNOT be fired as there is nothing in the cartridge to propel the bullet. These are never called blanks.
