SoftBonds -> Israeli soldier hand hurt by demonstrator (4/26/2012 10:32:09 AM)

Dismissed of his command for striking a Danish protestor with his gun. Also struck others, including a woman who was menacing him while riding her bicycle.
BTW, Arutz Sheva is the Israeli version of fox news, in case you can't tell by them saying that in Denmark "extreme violence is routine" by protestors, and that the cut created by his gun was "small," while he needed bandages for his hurt hand.
If more people in the US saw this kind of stuff, Israel wouldn't have our support, and might have to actually go to the peace table...

It's funny how no American government can ever seem to be pro Israel enough for the Israeli right, but they never seem to consider stopping taking those foreign aid payments from the evil antisemites in America, isn't it?

Israelis are worthy of the support we give them It's too bad they won't elect a goverment that is as well. Israeli extremists and Palestinian extremists are just different sides of the same coin. They both have a vested interest in slow burn conflict. peace would be the end of both. AIPAC in this country has done enough shady crap it should be a scarlet letter to take cash from them

If an Israeli soldier has really had his hand hurt by a protester I would of thought Israel would have bombed and shot a few hundred innocent people by now, they must be going soft.
America really needs to try and find some kind of exit strategy from Israel, or at least get some distance. Most US aid to Israel is military, not humanitirian. That is not good for America or the rest of the world

Your observation is spot on.

The USA provides a blank cheque to Israel which the Israelis take to the limit. Emboldened by an unconditional US security guarantee and protected from the legal and diplomatic consequences of their actions by US political indulgence of Israeli excesses, the Israelis have calculated that there is nothing to gain from striking a peace deal with the Palestinians.

As long as unconditional US support remains in place, Israel will pursue its goal of complete conquest of the West Bank, maintain its brutal ethnic cleansing of the indigenous population and laugh at international law. Thus, Israeli 'conditions' for peace have escalated over the years and its painfully obvious to all that the current Israeli Govt has no intention of negotiating peace with the Palestinians.

A credible threat to withdraw US support for Israel would force Israel to the negotiating table immediately. Current US policy encourages Israel to hold out for Palestinian capitulation instead of negotiating seriously for peace. This is one of the major reasons why the US is so on the nose throughout the Muslim world. The threat of a change in US policy on its own could be enough to bring peace to that troubled region.
