Brown’s bill wants to protect gun owners from being fired, which, of course, is redundant given the Second Amendment outlined in the Constitution. Gun owners and cowboys interviewed in the piece have said they never heard of the problem to begin with...

Mandvi asked her a pretty simply question, one Brown should know given that she put this bill together:

“How many examples of gun owner discrimination do you currently know of,” he asked.

After some hesitation and deep, reflective thought, Brown says she’d prefer to not get into specific examples. That’s probably because there are no cases. Ever.

So while Ms. Wanda fights her pointless battle, a real issue actually exists. Mike Colona, the only gay man in the Missouri House explains that he can be fired due to his sexual orientation.

Mandvi immediately thought to enlist the help of Ms. Brown. After all, “she’s all about protection,” he says.

Predictably, she isn’t sure she’d support a bill and has voted against a bill protecting the LGBT community in the work place.

“Maybe she’s been so busy battling oppression that doesn’t exist yet, she didn’t have time to fight oppression that does,” said Mandvi.

The restraint it must’ve taken to not shake this woman just to see if you could hear a brain rattling around in her skull I imagine was unparalleled, so congratulations to Mandvi.

Look... since there's no law to protect Mike, let's find Mike the biggest-ass long barrelled revolver .. chrome plated, ivory grip... the whole shebang.
That way he can slip through the cracks as a GUN OWNER.

That's exactly what Mike should do. If he can be fired for being gay, but can't be fired for owning a gun, his answer seems simple--buy a gun!!

Not exactly. The Second Amendment states that the feds cannot take away guns. It does not address how companies treat gun owners.

The law will have to be carefully written. Every company I have worked for, has banned guns at the workplace. The law must be careful to say that companies cannot discriminate against people using guns on their own time, off work premises.

That said, I agree that Brown's just grandstanding for votes with a useless bill.
