ResidentSadist -> -=To Fat Cat & back - Biggest Loser Thread Tribute=- (5/4/2012 8:00:00 PM)

I was a "fat-cat" in that I had money to spare.

Then I moved to Daytona Beach, quit working out, abandoned my personal and business disciplines, sat around and drank way too much beer.
Apparently sitting on your ass, laying out by the pool and drinking too much beer will make you fat (and not so wealthy).

With muscle tone faded, I tried to do something physical as if I was in good shape and got injured.
I became really "fat" because now I was sitting around like an injured puppy.

The most exercise I got was pushing the buttons on my keyboard playing World of Warcraft video games with everhope.

I set down the beer & soda
I changed my diet
I got off my ass and started working out at home.
I worked around the injury using a Kettle Bell and a Total Gym I discovered while buying the kettle bells.
I learned about kettle bells for the first time right in the RE: The CollarMe "Biggest Loser" Gang WANTS YOU!!1! thread.

I grew strong enough to get back into my old routines.
I got back into the gym.

I have gained a lot of strength and lost a lot of weight.
I'm not back in fighting shape yet. I still have a lot of strength training to do.
I still have a lot of fat to lose and muscle to regain.

However, when I weighed in today, I have lost 48lbs so far.
I'm a lot nicer to cuddle with now.

I post this as encouragement for you and thanks for the tips you all have given me in the Biggest Loser thread.
It all started as a free spirited, unchained, undisciplined adventure enjoying the beer, beach, bikini babes and bikes on Daytona Beach.
The unrestrained pursuit of pleasure without balance let me fall below par.

In summary, I eventually injured myself doing something I should have been able to do because I was out of shape.
I turned things around with discipline. A steady and positive change has been in place ever since.
Soon I will be up to par again, strong and ready.
I also got off my ass business wise and started making money again.
I figure I am about half way there on both levels, personal and corporate.
I look forward to reaching my goals and reaping the rewards of discipline.
Mental and physical strength are important attributes for me.
I want "fat cat" or "big daddy" to refer to my prowess, not my physique.

So to all of you, keep at it, it pays off in the end. It was nice to learn something new online and those kettle bells were perfect. Thanks again for the all tips in the CollarMe "Biggest Loser" thread. You guys are great.

Excellent job! 48lbs is some awesome weight loss, but also your recovery from this injury and additional strength you've gained as well. Yay!

Awesome story, RS!

I'm trying to motivate myself to get back to my best too, after a couple of years of stress, loss and prescribed steroid drugs.

Oh, and chocolate [:D]

I'm off to see what this kettlebells thing is all about...

Well done, RS, very well done! I'll keep shaking my pom poms for your continued success!

Yay for you! I have been smoke free since I turned 50 on the 23rd. Hoping to get serious about the exercise and eating better in a few weeks, once the shock of the nicotine being gone is done!

Great post!

Other than gardening, I didn't do much exercising last month while I was waiting to get a knee MRI and waiting to discuss the results thereof. My sister suggested myfitnesspal.com and I love it.

I started on Easter and have lost a steady 2-3 pounds per week, except for last week, which included a cookout for kinksters from fet and some unrealistic thinking on my part regarding simple carbs.

I have been trying to make limping sexy for the past few months, as I also had a knee injury, and then sprained
my ankle. Ugh! Since they opened the pool at the YMCA, I feel like I have a whole new leg. My MRI showed a very
small tear in the meniscus, but the doctor said since I'm finding much improvement from swimming, that we should
avoid surgery unless the pain becomes unbearable. I hope your results were as promising!

Thanks Aries . . . yup, too much of good thing can be really bad.

I had gained so much weight, I have lost over 48 pounds and still have more to lose before I can pose in my jock strap for the Buckle Up thread.

The good news is that I am getting my strength back and I can I will be back up to spec one day soon.
