Dom4subssub4doms -> The greater good of the Republican agenda (5/5/2012 8:28:34 AM)

I saw someone reference the greater good of the Republican agenda. I'd be interested in hearing from those who plan on voting republican what they think the agenda is and what proposals have been made to support it. I admit to not believeing it is for the greatergood but if you have the evidence I'd change my mind

Well the first thing you need to do is ask 'For the greater good of Whom?' Get the facts on that lined up, and the rest should be obvious.

For the Republicans, the greater good is for the wealthy and businesses that are moving jobs over seas, and taking rights away from women.

The problem is that their stated goals and their proposed policies contradict themselves.

Just one example:

Stated Goal: "Our goal is Smaller government"

Proposed policy: Make contraception illegal, as it was prior to Griswold v. Connecticut, requiring an increase in the size of government to hire more police to enter people's homes and arrest them for possession of a condom and requiring an increase in the size of government to construct and staff more prisons to house women arrested for using the Pill.

What he said.

At Jim Cronin's 1982 cookout what he actually recommended was the Dutch Antilles. He also said "You want a sure long term thing? Start investing in nursing homes and funeral parlors."

Why?

I think we are supposed to believe he is on the fence and just waiting for someone to change his mind. As far as agendas go, I think both sides are trying to get control of the house and get their man in the oval office. Aside from that I gave up a long time ago trying to figure out how a politicians mind works. Now I wonder if he will ever answer me on why the new profile. I can't believe the old one got banned already.

YSG -> RE: The greater good of the Republican agenda (5/5/2012 7:09:25 PM)

The republican agenda can be summed up like this: Tax cuts for the wealthy, wars for oil, the dismanteling of public services and social programs, union busting, ripping apart womens and minority rights, the starvation of the poor, and everyone being forcibly converted to some extreme form of Christianity.

YSG -> RE: The greater good of the Republican agenda (5/5/2012 7:23:15 PM)

What do I see when I look at Mitt Romney? I see the face of the asshole that fired me. I see another economic crash caused by an unregulated market. I see workers and womens rights trampled under the boot of profit. I see more and more jobs moving over to China and India and Mexico in the name of "Free Trade". I see the further destruction of public education, due to lack of funds. I see more wars for oil. When I look at Mitt Romney, I see class warfare in full, where the poor are worked and starved to death, and the idle rich are allowed to victimize the (almost non-existant) middle class.
