FreakyTiki13 -> Where do you find play partners? (5/7/2012 9:52:52 AM)

I have been trying to determine the best way to go about finding a new female to play with. Are there particular dating sites or websites you found helpful in your search? I don't go out to bars much so that doesn't work for me. I am just curious about where and how you found your partners. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I generally find play partners among my friends. I find that women, especially, are much easier to develop play relationships with if you have a preexisting friendship. Also, the play is better if they like and respect you, and I'm completely over the novelty of strangers at this point.

I agree with this. Most often a play partner is someone I know and respect, not some random stranger.

That would be one of the problems I should have mentioned. I am new to my area so don't have many friends. And I find that meeting new people is difficult on a friendship, let alone sexual level.

I would suggest, if you're new to the area, look online and see if there any munches or bdsm/fetish events in the area. Munches are particularly good for making new friends, but remember they're not meat markets or "speed dating" and their purpose is not to find a play partner.

Try craigslist. I have a friend who has good luck meeting girls that way. Just be careful.

I'll admit that craigslist sounds slightly frightening. You hear so many horror stories about it.

There are lots of groups to chose from in Orlando: https://fetlife.com/search/groups?q=orlando

This group looks especially good for you: Submissive Safe Space-Orlando https://fetlife.com/groups/13730/about

Your best bet is to go to munches, which are social gatherings of people into BDSM. If you go to fetlife.com you'll find all sorts of local munches.

There isn't a golden web site. This one is as good as any for kinky encounters as any. Sure, you'll hear horror stories about CL, but if you are looking for a quickie kinky encounter with a stranger you have to be cautious. Meet in a public place. Don't rush into anything. Etc., etc.

ORLANDO? Go join the Woodshed. Talk to people. Make us envious that you get to go there whenever you want.

I bought my mandolin on Craigslist, but I am not sure I would do anything else there.

FreakyTiki13 -> RE: Where do you find play partners? (5/7/2012 12:00:47 PM)

I just found out about The Woodshed. I am going to look into it more. I am nervous about going places alone. Wish I had a friend to go with. Is anyone here from the Orlando area that would want to meet for coffee or dinner and then go to The Woodshed one night, so that I would feel like I wasn't alone?

Hillwilliam -> RE: Where do you find play partners? (5/7/2012 12:02:39 PM)

Go to FET and look up Orlando munch groups. Go to a munch and maybe attend the woodshed with a small group or stable couple?

Join some of the Orlando groups and write to people whose profiles pique your interest.

You've got to be kidding.

Craigslist has how many ads a day? Millions, right?

And how many horror stories are there? Ten? Twenty? In a year?

Craigslist is a fantastic way to meet someone. Just do a quick search for BDSM or "submissive" and see for yourself.

Of course, 99% of those will be men and/or spam - but hey - Craigslist is no different than the real world.

LadyPact -> RE: Where do you find play partners? (5/7/2012 3:02:23 PM)

I meet all of My play partners through local munches and events.  That may be the best way for you to find someone who would be interested in going to the Woodshed with you as well.

FreakyTiki13 -> RE: Where do you find play partners? (5/7/2012 3:05:45 PM)

It would seem that the best advice from everyone are munches, and The Woodshed. Now If I can just get up the courage to go to one. :-)

"I am just curious about where and how you found your partners."

My wife and I have had some luck with friends and also on sites such as Fetlife. This site...well nobody seems to talk much at all. Otherwise to be honest, I've had girls approach me in bars, stores, restaurants, all sorts of places and I don't really look but just wait until something comes up, which it always does. I wish you the best though.

kalikshama -> RE: Where do you find play partners? (5/7/2012 6:40:32 PM)

Great profile! I'm adding you to the list of "What a shame he's way out in Colorado."

Munches don't take much courage. There's no kink involved - at least not the ones out here which are all in public restaurants during normal eating times.

Dungeons are fun also. Since you're female, you'll be inundated with lurkers though - so you may want a chaperone. It's too bad Edges closed down as the Citadel is a haul to drive up to.

Craigslist works though.

LPslittleclip -> RE: Where do you find play partners? (5/7/2012 10:48:37 PM)

munches and meet and greets are a great way to meet new folks in a low key vanilla setting. i have gone to them at pizza parlors sandwich shops chain eateries. they have all been welcoming and helpfull. it is much better than just hoping to meet someone online. of course a major lifestyle event is a great thing but can be overwelming for a newcomer, i went with some one that had been before and it was a wondefull time.
