At a time when the GOP is pushing austerity, refusing to raise taxes and demanding that the federal budget be balanced, they now want to spend in excess of $100 million to build a new missile defense shield on the east coast. This is good money after bad for a number of reasons, not the least of which being that the star wars project has always proven to be a complete failure.

Bush and the Republicans dropped the ball on the war on terror. Obama gave the order that sent Seal Team 6 on their very successful mission that sent bin Laden to his watery grave forever denying the Republicans the line that Democrats are "soft" on national defense. So now, the Republicans are prepared to spend money we don't have in order to appear to be stronger on defense. And it will be a bill that Obama will almost have to sign or he will be hammered with it until November by the hawks.

A good example of conservatives holding the President over petty issues every hour of the day, but write a blank check on 'accountibility and responsibility' for the GOP. It would be nice if conservatives were to hold their own elected officals to the same level, if not twice, the level that they bitch at Democrats and the President. The moment you vote for someone, you are taking responsibility for what they do and dont do during their term.

MIT excoriated the program. Every test was fudged.You can ignore them they are elite and the elite are really stupid

Actually it was the biggest two-sided bluff in modern history. Reagan and Bush lied through their teeth about their bullshit boondoggle and the Russians fell apart were delayed enough for their own economy and culture to catch up with them.
Reagan, contrary to popular belief did PRECIOUS LITTLE to bring down the Soviet Union... But because he ran his mouth in the right place at the right time.

Smaller Government ... it's 100 Mil to get the idea on paper... This is without a single piece of technology manipulated in any way... Just a GIFT to DC think tanks and this horse shit about a $4 billion? Try a hundred billion by the time it's set up.
A shift in a telephone/internet poll of only about 7 points brought this about. Hopefully, Romney will stay relatively close to Obama and we can avoid the republicans spending us into being the greeks of the west.
