ORIGINAL: SadistDave Would you be referring to the presidents budget that was so ridiculous that even his own party didn't give it a single "yes" vote? What was that vote? 99-0? The presidential budget that failed to get a single vote in a a Congress controlled by his own party budget? Is that the budget you're carrying on about? The left is very quick to claim that the Republicans broke the deal by passing a defense bill, but NPR didn't have the balls to mention the fact in their article that the Bamster's proposed budget was going to add something like 6.4 trillion dollars in new deficits over the next 10 years. To conservatives it sure sounds like it was the president that broke any austerity agreement by proposing something that adds new deficits to the budget... Of course libs don't seem to understand that because it doesn't fit the narrative they're trying so hard to manufacture. You are the 'uninformed' type that ignores reality and facts in favor of Republican Party loyality. Told what to think by the 'state-run' news media, FOX News (cus your against 'free media' or Liberalis Media....oh...sorry....LIBERAL MEDIA). If you had taken the time to look into the information rather than be spoon fed soundbites and buzz words, you would have understand WHY the Democrats voted the way they did. Since I know you will never do such a think, since like other members of your philosophy, the process of 'checking information' is so time-consuming and annoying; I'll stated it for you. The President's Budget Plan for FY2013 was a few hundred pages long. The Republican's literally dumbed down the document to 99 pages., and insisted it was the President's plan all along. The ONLY group in America that bought that 'line-item-crap' were conservatives. Democrats voted it down because it was a lie and the budget did alot of things that were 'Republican-oriented'. Republicans voted it down because the original version of it came from the Office of the President (I wonder if even some of them actually read any of it?). When stuff like this happens, it pays to do some digging to find the facts out, rather than just mindlessly accept what your told by the media. More 'rosy' good news from the Republicans. Last August (that would be August 2011), was the deadline for the new budget. Problem was, Republicans couldnt compromise on ANYTHING with the Democrats (whom were willing to do so). They literally took a 'my way or the highway' approach to the budget; they metaphorically held America hostage until they got what they wanted. Democrats did not surrender to Republicans, called their bluff and the country's rating was downgraded from AAA to AA. And WHO is responsible for getting the budget started in such a way that REGARDLESS of which party held power, of getting the budget through? The House! The House creates the bill in such a way that it would have a fair chance of passing the Senate and the Office of the President (with some minor dealings here and there). And WHO was controlling the US House of Representatives at the time? The Republican Party! So everyone decided on the creation of....(dun, dun, DUN)...the Super Committee! The deal was simple: 'X' number of members from the House and Senate from both parties would create a budget and push it through or else bad stuff would happen. And what was the bad stuff? Well, $600 Billion (I believe the number was) would be taken from 'social and health' services (something Democrats didnt want), and the same amount from 'Defense Budget' (which Republicans REALLY didnt want). And what happened? The super committee failed to reach an agreement, straight down party lines. Democrats were annoyed that such monies would be taken out (and anger their voters), but were willing to hold up to their end fo the bargain. The Republicans....BACKED OUT....on their end of the bargain. That's right, they accepted a deal in good faith and than CHEATED on the deal. Just like they did on the final month of the Affordable Care Act (that's 'Obamacare' for you political illerates). On that bill, the Democrats asked straight up "What would have to go in this bill to gain your support?" Republicans gave ideas, Democrats changed things (effectively watering it down), and THEN, the Republicans VOTED AGAINST IT! Now, in all honesty, would you truthfully handle future business dealings with an organization that seems to routinely renege on business deals? Apparently you do, because you VOTE FOR THEM! I'm fine with you bashing the Democrats and the President, so long as two things are true: 1) You are civilized, mature, and behave like an educated adult (rather than a 6th grader). 2) You hold the party (or individuals) you voted for to TWICE the level of accountability and responsibility as you slam the other party (or persons). And I know your not doing either, based on your comments. All that nonsense and you still don't have a clue about what happened, do ya? Here's a newsflash for you. The original Obummer budget was defeated 414-0 in the House before the Senate took it up. Not a single Democrat voted for it in the House... The Idiot-in-Chief hasn't had a single vote from his own party on his budget, because it's a fiscal train wreck. Not hard to find that information by the way. These changes you are making such a huge issue over were nothing more than Republicans trying to make sense out of the bullshit Obummer presented as a budget. Their story is that they streamlined the information and used the original math from the Bamsters original budget. Don't know. Wasn't there. Let's pretend for the moment that you are correct (HA!) and the Republicans altered the math. Here's a little nugget that's easily found and confirmed. Sen. Jeff Sessions, Alabama Republican, challenged any Democrat to find any errors in the Republican math to prove the claim that the Republicans had changed the numbers in their abridged budget. Not a single Democrat attempted to check the work. They just opted to vote against it too. Think about that for a second.... Not a single solitary Democrat supported Little Barry's budget in any form. Now, you can make all the excuses you want and say that I'm uninformed, lol. That's okay. You just keep drinking the Flavor Aid until President Hype and Blame finally does something so retarded that even you will realize he's just an empty suit. Meanwhile, loved your post. Ever think of writing comedy? -SD-
