AbitHarsh -> ALERT...California is big!! (5/20/2012 9:49:21 PM)

If you just say you are from California in your profile its kinda like saying...i live in a rust belt state!

Throw us a bone at least name a parallel or something!!

LadyPact -> RE: ALERT...California is big!! (5/20/2012 9:52:26 PM)

Yeah, I learned that lesson when I lived in Paso Robles.  I was so used to "I can do anything in that state" to, Holy shit!

Ah, we live and learn.

Hey, AbitHarsh, just to give you some perspective - LadyPact, the lady above me, now lives in Alaska.

Now then, you were claiming that California is big?

kitkat105 -> RE: ALERT...California is big!! (5/21/2012 4:15:06 AM)

I think most states in the US are pretty big. *shrug*

Then again, this guy has a slight entitlement complex from his last couple posts.

tj444 -> RE: ALERT...California is big!! (5/21/2012 4:24:07 AM)

Dude,.. when you click on someones profile it tells you how many miles away from you they are.. so whats the fuss?

of course that means ya gotta actually click on their profile and read it a bit which it seems guy spammers dont bother to do.. [8|]

Nah, why bother putting in that effort, when you can just come here and whine?

LadyHibiscus -> RE: ALERT...California is big!! (5/21/2012 7:43:37 AM)

The miles thing doesnt always work, actually. It's based on postal codes, and if the person enters the wrong one...

But yes, California is indeed large. As are Texas and Alaska.

well,.. what i have seen it works well enough but nothing is 100% foolproof.. the exceptions from my experience is when the person is a scammer type that uses the wrong code for where they say they are... or possibly someone in the process of moving to another city and they dont have the right code or just forgot to change it.. of course if they say they are moving from Russia or Ghana, etc.. that might be a red flag.. Who cares. The world is kinda bigish. But yanno........Planes, trains, and automobiles.

DesFIP -> RE: ALERT...California is big!! (5/21/2012 8:31:25 AM)

NY is about 10 hours from the eastern tip of Long Island to past Buffalo. That's not local either.

Lockit -> RE: ALERT...California is big!! (5/21/2012 11:52:17 AM)

Good lord... forty two years old and still whining?

That's productive.

Slaves on a silver platter... all for your convenience... making it easy for the lazy dom, just doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Pretty much. I have a passport and I'm not afraid to use it! And my car gets excellent mileage on the highway.

Karmastic -> RE: ALERT...California is big!! (5/22/2012 1:58:41 AM)

i presumed that was to keep some perceived sense of additional anonymity, while still allowing the miles away to give a decent indication of distance. i think it's a good system that gives people good choices/options. it's a bad thing when choice is taken away based on the lowest common denominator.

Yes, that's exactly why I put "South Shore" in my profile. People local to me will know what that means.

OP - I was about to make a snide remark about you having gone through all the kinky people in Las Vegas already but see that's it's much closer to the CA border than I thought. I knew it was a ways from LA.

I see there are tons of groups and events in your area. Have you checked them out? https://fetlife.com/search?q=Las+Vegas+

This should prove more fruitful than profile critiquing.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: ALERT...California is big!! (5/22/2012 1:56:00 PM)

Sure, Karmastic, I put "Oakland County" in my profile for that reason. We're used to driving in Michigan, though.

AbitHarsh -> RE: ALERT...California is big!! (5/23/2012 5:08:56 PM)

wow this really hit a cord with some people, sorry if it brought up some personal issues for some of you it really was meant as fluff lol. ill try to keep it more "productive" next time...maybe il call a stranger a "whiner" for making an innocuous suggestion [8D]

AbitHarsh -> RE: ALERT...California is big!! (5/23/2012 5:10:38 PM)

oh and alot of people dont use a postal address as that is actually something someone would have a better chance of tracking a person down with.

marsman -> RE: ALERT...California is big!! (5/23/2012 10:17:43 PM)

To bring this into perspective for folks on the east coast,
the distance between Eureka, California and San Diego, California is greater than
the distance between New York, New York and Atlanta, Georgia.

AngelOfSilence -> RE: ALERT...California is big!! (5/24/2012 5:45:21 AM)

And Russia is bigger.
