BitaTruble -> The view from your knees.. (5/23/2012 1:23:57 PM)

When I'm on my knees, I can't see if the top of the fridge is dusty and needs a cleaning.

When he's standing over me, he can't see if the space under the fridge is dusty and needs cleaning.

Crap.. I hit the wrong button. lol

Am editing so give me a moment or three. :D

I cleaned the kitchen yesterday so even if i can't see the top of the fridge right now, I 'know' that it's clean.

The view from my knees doesn't change my knowledge.

On the other hand, Himself did not clean under the fridge yesterday, so unless he asks me and trusts me to tell him the truth ... he can't be sure of whether or not there is dust under there.

Where you stand or kneel is not the end all be all. Tapping into a second perspective may widen your own even if it comes from someone who appears to be at a disadvantage.

If you please, note the word 'appears' in that sentence. I don't feel that being on my knees is a disadvantage at all, of course, but I know a whole lot who would disagree with such a perspective. I guess they have a different view. [8D] I get various facets of myself fed, get my kink on, thrive, grow, get to bask in power and am, over-all, a better person because of my spot (whether chosen or otherwise) in the grand scheme. In other words, life on my knees freakin' rocks. (That's figurative. If you actually see me on my knees, I have probably fallen and can't get up, so feel free to lend a hand.)

How's the view where you are?

I gather you have a messy kitchen. I think that's your fault, unless you don't do domestic. [;)]

LadyHibiscus -> RE: The view from your knees.. (5/23/2012 1:30:49 PM)

For the first, a cat, the second, a swiffer!

RemoteUser -> RE: The view from your knees.. (5/23/2012 1:31:41 PM)

Cats can be swiffers too, you just need a long handle.

Dude, you could eat off my floors. When it comes to my kitchen you will not find anyone more anal retentive than myself. lol

LaTigresse -> RE: The view from your knees.. (5/23/2012 2:38:08 PM)

From where I sit/stand, the view rocks.

I make most of the decisions, not just for myself, but many of the people in my life. I am responsible for myself and my choices. I am happy and fulfilled when I am taking ownership for my responsibilities. I like knowing I will be held accountable for my actions and decisions.......and the repercussions. Mostly by myself and my expectations of myself.

I like knowing that others trust me enough to make decisions that could dramatically impact their lives. Their trust, my wanting what is best for all, forces me to hold myself to a higher standard. It constantly pushes me to be a better version of me.

For me it's perfect. I'm comfortable there and it's what I like. Whether I chose it or not, it's where I want to be. My life is more manageable and easier. There's no conflict, no chaos, no fighting, no nothing. I get to live a life that I enjoy.

Fridges are wankers. Fuck them.

Limited! That is why I try to gain as many perspectives as reasonable to make the best judgement and decisions possible.

MissImmortalPain -> RE: The view from your knees.. (5/23/2012 3:39:04 PM)

The view from where I am...is pretty damn amazing. I have been allowed to stand above people and below them before. Now I am somewhere in the middle. From a wheelchair in the last year I have learned how to see people for who they really are. Good or bad. Strong or weak. I now am able to understand better why some people do the things they do (which I thought I had a pretty good understanding of to begin with) I have had people walk away from me because they see the chair and not me. I have had family, friends, and the livein all be tested to treat me as they did before. Some can, some can't. For those that can't,in their eyes, I have been changed. For me, they have. All in all though the view is amazing.

NuevaVida -> RE: The view from your knees.. (5/23/2012 5:26:59 PM)

My view is awesome. Whether I'm on my knees looking up to him or held high so I can see the view in the distance, I'm exactly where I need to be, seeing exactly what I need to be seeing. And trust me, it's hardly dusty from my viewpoint. [;)]

WestBaySlave -> RE: The view from your knees.. (5/23/2012 5:50:49 PM)

Given my height, the view is sometimes face to face! [:D]

I got extremely comfortable viewing only from my knees.
The end result was that I lost a huge part of who I was and what made me tick. I also lost him.
So....I highly recommend viewing all parts of life from as many angles as you can.
It doesn't change who you are at the core. It just makes you a much more well rounded and happier person.

I highly agree with this, from my own experiences.

I'm trying to find an accurate point of view standing before I go on my knees.

Thank you for posting a well thought out honest response.

I believe it, I was being a brat. Better answer? I only have one view and that is her. I don't have a staircase to lean on and look down at the people rising up. I'm where I'm at relative to myself, and the terrain is abstract and impermeable. So really, I'm not going to look down, up, sideways, not even if you wear that pretty polka-dot skirt. I'll be looking inside, when she isn't with me.

I am fortunate to have her near often, however, and she is quite a view all on her own.

Soyokaze -> RE: The view from your knees.. (5/24/2012 7:01:52 AM)

My views as encompassing as I can get since I'm alone. Being that the last person I trusted to watch out for me set me back literally four years, I'm rather scared to do that again : p I have been getting out and socializing way more than I have in the past though.
