What does it mean to be Who You are in
the Bdsm world?

To me it was finding the Real me!
Knowing that I had a purpose.

I found the BDSM realm to be a part of me. I didn't find myself there.

"...with stronger masochistic leanings at the moment."  This is very inciteful, because it dispells the myth that we are not always one thing or one way.  And I suppose that this confuses those who believe that they have window into what makes us tick.  You can be either static or fluid, and at whatever time you choose to be what and who you are.

Well said ....

(by the way you have mail on the other side... I replied to yours but its still unread so I wondered if you got it or not.... )

Thank you.  :-)  I haven't seen any mail there lately but I'll check it now.

I consider myself someone that enjoys letting my pet serve me and trying to help make my pet the best she can be at what she likes doing - serving me.

In the "BDSM World", eh?  Being who I am  means I am a group leader - I founded the T3WD munch group in Columbia, SC in 1999 and I have a hand in running it to this day.

It means I am an educator and teacher - I have been giving educational presentations about flogging, poly relationships, incorporating faith into BDSM, rope bondage, erotic knifeplay, scene safety, etc, to T3WD and other groups in the Carolinas and Georgia.

It means I am a charity worker - I have lead or participated in fundraising drives for leather families who have suffered deaths in their family, or injuries or other losses.

It means I am an activist and advocate for this lifestyle - I promote and support the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom http://www.ncsfreedom.org I act as the primary contact for T3WD for the rest of the world and try to promote the very positive aspects this lifestyle has to offer.

It means I am a community builder -  I refer people to realtime groups in their local areas, I encourage groups and individuals to build networks.  I go to other BDSM groups to support their efforts.

It means I can openly be _all_ of me (something I can not do in the 'nilla world) - I can openly indulge the sadist, the play pig, and proudly proclaim I am the owner of janey.  No need to sugarcoat or hide that here.

I am certain that other aspects of who I am manifest in the "BDSM World" that do not manifest elsewhere in my life, but these are the things that jump into my mind that are specific to this part of my life.

YIK,
- Geoff

Bravo, Geoff - well said.  If everyone took the opinion that we should serve as we demand to be served, would any go lacking whatever they needed?  Whether it is education, guidance, or companionship....
