Look at the last two years, and the big influx of republicans that pledged and were elected on the promise that they were going to fix this, and all they have done is massivly grow this.

What dealings do you ever have with reality mr machinery exporter, mr 75%er, and so on?

But to then dodge the same question for Republican Senators simply repeats the irony.

The result? No score...just petty.

If there's a problem, let's look at it. If Republican Senators are doing this as well, it's a bullshit charge. If the attempt to dig at perceived hypocrisy has unwittingly unearthed a problem, let's delve in and fix it. If the problem is manufactured by comparing apples and oranges, rather than truly equal work at disparate rates, then that dishonesty should also be exposed.

That there's nothing here at all about Republican Senators suggests the answer.

The progressive assumption is Republicans already are at war with women and underpay them so diverting this thread by asking for like data on Republicans is a thinly veiled diversion and off topic; Even if Republicans were to show a like tendency to underpay women this does not justify discussing that rather than the OP.

Nice diversion though. Well done.

There's a difference between a diversion and a poor argument.

Republicans missed an opportunity here. With some good numbers on their side, they could have knocked this one out of the park. Why didn't they?

Two likelihoods. Either they're not very bright--and I don't really think that's the case--or they don't have the numbers themselves to pull it off, and hoped this half-assed shit would fly.

So why fly with half-assed shit? To deflect conversation from their lack of a record, short of screaming "No!" a lot, electing a Speaker who likes to cry in public, and raising the defense budget against the military's wishes.

Cuz it's not addressed on the homepage.

I did find this, though:

Tea party freshman gets in hot water over lingerie lady's meals

Rep. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) will be refunding the meals provided to a friend who he brought along on a recent trip to a luxury Sea Island, Ga. resort, he told The Washington Post.

The $371 excess payment for the meals of Zee Patel - buyer and general manager for the Bits of Lace lingerie store - came during a trip financed by the American Enterprise Institute. House rules allow travelers to bring a guest, but only one. The unmarried Scott also brought his mother. Scott told The Post that he had intended to pay back the funds but was waiting on an invoice from AEI.

The congressman described Patel as a "family friend".

It's really interesting that you're worried about a lousy 371 dollars when the very next story down is...

Billions flowed to organizations with lawmaker, family ties

rob, first, what does that show, and second--those data are old.

The first on your iist, Sen. Spencer Abraham--was defeated in 2000!

He's a bizarre character though--

In 1999, Abraham co-sponsored S.896, a bill to abolish the U.S. Department of Energy;
Abraham was appointed Secretary of Energy by the incoming George W. Bush's administration.

On November 15, 2004, Abraham announced that he would resign from this position, effective with the swearing in of his successor Samuel W. Bodman on February 1, 2005.

Ah. I thought you were interested in justice. My bad.

LOL, Ditto.

Whiplashsmile4 -> RE: Democrat War On Women (5/26/2012 8:22:00 AM)

I think it's a problem regardless if a "D/R/I" is doing it. However to simply point fingers at a list only Democrats doing it without also listing the Republicans and Independents doing it. Clearly this is more about promoting a political agenda instead of actually seeking true equal justice across the board.

There's a difference between an issue or an agenda. Both parties need to clean up their acts (a lot in my opinion) at this stage of the game. Which requires also pointing fingers at those inside their own camp.
