are we defining "young adult" here at all?

DrG

say under 18, but it doesn't matter, just share.

Saturday Night Fever, the movie was not that good but it had a great soundtrack. Didn't shape my life or anything but the musci send me back in time.

I agree with many aforementioned titles, but to bring a couple not already aired:

Seven Samurai
Quadrophenia
The Exorcist
(sneaked in under age and for the 1st time seeing a film gave me a sleepless night, been looking for that buzz ever since)
Citizen Kane (taught me how to watch fillums)
Scum
Easy Rider (I later got my own chopper)
Baron Munchausen
All Quiet On The Western Front (changed my views on war)
The Jerk
The General
(a small number of us always found Buster Keaton funnier than Laurel & Hardy or Chaplin)
Sunset Boulevard (how could the dead victim tell the story?)
To Kill A Mocking Bird
Chinatown
8 1/2 and La Dolca Vita
(was a student of film at college, these two included eurobabes Anouk Aimee and Anita Ekberg. Homework was never so good and I learned how to smoke cigarettes in a cool way)

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: What's your fav movies as young adult? (6/18/2012 5:56:06 PM)

Star Wars
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Blazing Saddle
Young Frankenstein
Silent Movie
Heavy Metal
Jaws

The list could go on but those are all I can think of right now...

cool, two matches! (heavy metal and rocky h). starwars had a big impact socially, so i guess on me too. i didn't even watch all the prequels or sequels. jaws too, just so many memories with that one. mel brooks is very funny, they don't do comedy like that anymore (maybe except the Wayans (sp) brothers).

Mel Brooks couldn't get away with 99% of the stuff that was in Blazing Saddles, which is why I have my own copy since they cut it all to hell when it's on TV. I pop it in my laptop and get to watch it the way it was meant to be.
As for Jaws, I saw it when it came out, I've seen it countless times on TV and I still haven't seen the entire thing. 30 some years later I still shut my eyes when they dive down to the boat. [:D]

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: What's your fav movies as young adult? (6/18/2012 8:07:38 PM)

No, it was the sunken boat where the head comes popping up, or so I've been told. [8D]

dickstbph -> RE: What's your fav movies as young adult? (6/18/2012 8:25:39 PM)

Clueless, forget all.

yourdarkdesire -> RE: What's your fav movies as young adult? (6/19/2012 2:42:37 AM)

The Airport movies with George Kennedy
Towering Inferno
Earthquake
The Sting
Posiden Adventure (loved Shelley Winters in this)
Star Wars

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: What's your fav movies as young adult? (6/19/2012 4:44:55 PM)

Oooooh!! The cataclysm movies, I loved those too. The ones they make now aren't as "eventful" or 1/2 the fun, not the way they used to make em.

they've done so many cataclysm films, that now it's moved onto Apocalyptic themes, which i love.

Yeah, I'm a sucker for those too. [:)]

I screamed and threw my arms up at that scene. Sadly, I had coke in one hand and popcorn in the other.

Good times!!!

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: What's your fav movies as young adult? (6/19/2012 6:13:46 PM)

The date I was with kept saying "cool man", all you'd hear throughout the entire the theater was the sound of a slap and me yelling "Breeeett" [:D]

TheHeretic -> RE: What's your fav movies as young adult? (6/19/2012 7:29:44 PM)

Quite a few already mentioned, but this was always the default movie into the VCR.

Hell, I can no longer, in any way, call myself a "young" adult, but I'll still get fucked up, and watch it again, every so often. I have much better quality speakers now.

That Jaws scene had the guys' eyeball hanging out on a strand of ick.
I gave up swimming (in the local pool) for weeks.
