I saw some really great pics of Dommes in different vinyl and leather dress. The pics are awesome and the women look really hot, sexy, and very dominant. But aren't those outfits really hot? In total leather or vinyl it must be sweltering inside? You must really have to turn up the air.

Yes, they do get hot. Most people acclimate to wearing them after awhile. Those that don't normally just choose not to wear them. Not all dommes wear leather or latex. Some just wear jeans or skirts. You know like normal people.

Most events where I'm wearing leather aren't outside in the sun in the middle of the afternoon. There are exceptions, of course. Folsom Street Fair is held downtown San Fransisco in late September, which might as well be considered still summer. Other multiple day type events, like SELF or DomCon, you are inside for ninety minutes of classes and might only step outside for fifteen minutes in the heat during "break" until the next class begins. If it's a full day thing, I'll do what I call 'half leather' for the day portion, (waist cinch, skirt, light top, and sandals) until dinner break, and 'full leather' (corset, leather skirt, and boots) for any formal dinner at the event, play party, and beyond.

I dress for the weather. Which means the leather corset dress comes out in the winter.

Skin tight latex I can have problems with. My purple dress that's a lot more loose fitting is a lot cooler though. I haven't worn a lot of leather or vinyl yet so I can't comment much on that. I'm cold blooded so I tend to be able to put up with heat better than most as I'm reliant on external sources : p

If you want to wear leather anytime of the year, your gonna pay...lambskin is the bested there is!!!!!!...or buy the cheaper leather thats stiff and uncomfy.... IT`S a tosss up wearing leather and vinyl jeans...both are erotic in each of their own...way. The feel...The smell... I walk into a leather room full of new leather? Actually lamb nappa is pretty shitty leather and fairly cheap, loses it's shape and stretches too much. If leather is stiff or not depends a lot on the skill it's treated with, and if you buy a lamb nappa corset or trousers, you're just wasting money because after a few times wearing it will be out of shape, goat leather if you need fine and soft or pony leather.

You're in Houston. Linen is hotter than fuck for most of the year. Try moving north. South of the border for me is Canada (Windsor, Ontario). Leather and latex are feasible eight months of the year.

Here in Memphis, you'll die wearing a tank top. It is humid and hot here. But leather can be worn in the winter months.

Yeah, I've got to say. When I win the lottery and throw my own BDSM convention, the first thing I'm going to want to ask the hotel is "How good are your air conditioners?" Because I like erotic attire, but a lot of it does get awfully warm, particularly if someone as large as me is wearing it. (Hmm, though of course that's hard on the naked people. I guess we can just whip them more to keep the blood flowing....) Similarly, I'm always baffled at the timing of some events. San Diego's annual Pride festival is in the summer; great I guess for the well-built guys going shirtless, but not so great for the leather crowd. As I would (and someday will, damn it) attend it crossdressed, cool weather would be much, much preferable. And what was up with back when they used to do Leatherfest in freaking PALM SPRINGS in summertime? OMG!

I also meant to add, above...yes, I've seen some amazingly hot pictures of ladies in latex.....but if I stop to think about it, all I can think of is how clammy someone would be when peeling it off. Obviously it doesn't breathe at all, or absorb moisture.... I suppose if it were a fairly cool night and the lady involved was otherwise clean and fresh, it could provide just enough musk and glisten to enhance things...but if it had been hot at all, or she'd exercised in it...yow. I'll keep it in Second Life I think. :)

Latex is hot. I sweat in it even in a well-air-conditioned room, and I'm not normally someone who sweats to begin with, even when it's 100+ outside. It is also a great conductor of temperatures, so hot water feels really hot; cold water feels REALLY cold. If you like sensation play, it's great. If you want to go outside and walk around? Not so much, unless the temp outside is just right. I don't own leather so I can't say how it is. I can't imagine ever wearing vinyl.

Thank God Southplains is in feburary in TX... it makes leather doable... but I never do more than boots and a corsets.. you wont find mine important bits sweating in a pair of leather pants ...so for me dressing generally means.. a jean jacket, a white dress shirt and pair of jeans... some yummy shoes.. generally I play in my bare feet.. but I do love a pair of good boots.. I couldnt bear the sweat of latex and as I need to be comfortable to play ... it aint ever going to happen...
