Hello ShaggyDaddy and welcome to the forum side of CM!

Find some local events that you can go to to learn some of the finer aspects of kink. Workshops, books, forums - find as much info as possible and dig in for the long haul. :)

shaggydaddy -> RE: hi all (5/31/2012 9:50:00 PM)

does it cost for these events ?

MistressDarkArt -> RE: hi all (5/31/2012 11:28:57 PM)

Nice turnaround, shaggydaddy. Welcome to the boards.

The general consensus is we want you to succeed, so we are literally spelling out for you what will give you a fighting chance to connect with someone. It starts with losing the 'tude and paying attention to the squiggly red spell-check lines as you type. Turn the tables for a moment: would you want an inexperienced person with a smart-mouthed defiant attitude and poor ability to communicate hog-tying and using sharp instruments on you?

Reach out and participate in your local kink community. Hopefully there is a TNG (the next generation) group in your area with lots of folks your age. Google (your town) kink and/or have a look on Fet for groups close by. Face to face, there isn't so much onus on the written language and you can wow people in person.

You have plenty of time to learn. We can help you. Good luck and enjoy the journey.

Munches are generally just the cost of your meal/beverages. There may be reasonable admission charges to demos, events and play parties to help cover the expense of putting them on but the value is there; you need hands-on experience and this is where you will get it. Think of it as an investment.

This.

It depends a bit on what your location/community offers. I've only done stuff in my city, but I've never paid for a munch/slosh/play party/demo - just the food bought at or brought to the events.

Love the latest avatar here. (You're a keeper, btw.) BDSM is a learning experience, as is posting on the boards. You're learning and that's wonderful. Keep an open mind, and heed the advice given.

Well done and best of luck.

TNDommeK -> RE: hi all (6/1/2012 12:04:45 PM)

This is all good advice you are getting. Fetlife will help you out as far as finding events near you as well. It's free to join.
Glad you made this thread better, not a lot take that chance. They are given but sometimes piss poor attitudes hinder their success. Glad you took the high road. WELCOME!!! :)
