Osama bin Laden was fantastically successful. In a day, he got us ruining ourselves to the cost of trillions, ongoing into perpetuity, and rallying around the flag to do it. He made George Bush and benefited the oil industry immeasurably, insuring continued high demand and greater production. So people die. All in the name of the economy, right? War. is. Dumb.

Armies are beholden to governments for the most part, the politicians never will get out of the way cuz they are the guys that start it. Now, even military folks who you would think might be rip raring to go at every chance are not really behind wars as much as you armchair generals are.
