fr- i agree with Marc2b sentiments about the media. either through incompetence, laziness, or because they have an agenda or slant they are trying to promote, the media is more concerned with spin than truth. re this reporter - it was obviously a surprise attack interview, along the lines of what the "60 Minutes" show used to do. i think they chose a cheap target, not worthy or deserving of that kind of attack. i.e., so what, she gets public assistance. i think the mum answered well, but not strongly enough, in saying the reporter has never been in the interviewee's mom's apartment, and doesn't know shit about that environment. re the young mum - she has made poor choices, and is paying for them. don't have kids you can't afford to care for, and then expect my tax dollars to help subsidize your poor choices. re banks getting huge bailouts, versus people complaining about welfare mums. i think the bank bailouts are unconscionable, and heads should be rolling. but that is totally irrelevant to the different subject of welfare parents. it's a red herring argument.
