Waiting to be picked up again is REAMDE by Neal Stephenson. I have big love for China Mieville, and I might give Kraken another spin, since it's still in my room.

Hmm ... Amazon Wish List ? Is this wish list posted on your profile? [;)] [;)]

Well since you ask ... i am reading ...

The Stalkers: The Battle Of Beecher Island, 1868 - by Terry C Johnston.

But I recommend you, LH, stick to the Wikipedia version of the story.

LOL, Seeking! Yeah, American history has never been my fave!

And my Amazon list is under my name, so of course not publicly listed :) I love that thing, it helps me remeber what to look for at the library!

John Milton Cooper's biography of Woodrow Wilson

Hib, which of Janet's books did you read? Her Stephanie Plum series is great light reading....I have them all and her off-shoot book that is giving Diesel his own storyline. She's goy several series books out, they are all pretty good for just some escapism reading.

I'm on the wait list for the New Sookie Book, but I may break down and treat myself to just buying it this week. Ironically, I've been perusing those books again.....I reread my stuff all the time. And I found what is touted as Charlaine Harris' first book at the library, it's called "Sweet and Deadly, a pretty good read.....I've been looking for her Shakespere series, but it's not at my library, so I guess it's off to Overstock or Amazon.

I read a oneoff from the dollar store-and #16. The thing with the endless series books is that they're so alike, and so recursive. So much explaining who the cast of characters is, the mise en scene, the sexual tensions...

I might indulge in the Sookie books, I havent read them at all. And now Chris Meloni is joining the cast of True Blood, so I have to watch those eventually. If he's naked at all.

I'm actively reading "The Buddha Said..." by Osho.

I'm also slowly reading "Fragile Things" by Neil Gaiman, "Perdido Street Station" by China Mieville, and the first Game of Thrones book.

If it's one-handed, yes.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: What Are You Reading? (6/3/2012 6:32:44 PM)

Comics always count. Bonus points for Alan Moore.

Oh, these are a lot of fun! (True Blood widely diverges; I consider them to exist in parallel universes.)

Twice as many bonus points if it's Neil Gaiman or Frank Miller.

This thread has inspired me to re-read Heinlein's The Cat Who Walks Through Walls. That's about the only Heinlein book I haven't re-read, so it'll be relatively fresh.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: What Are You Reading? (6/4/2012 5:41:53 PM)

Frank Miller? Not 100% but I'll give it to you [:D]

lazarus1983 -> RE: What Are You Reading? (6/4/2012 5:49:48 PM)

At the least, The Dark Knight Returns. That's a classic.

They are such an easy read! I own all of them, although have not actually started Deadlocked! (Despite owning it for 2 weeks).
