Can we keep him??? He sounds awesome! And He likes musicals.

BK that cat pic was funny, I have never seen that one.

I certainly feel the need to make a strong first impression just to negate the douchiness of my avatar alone.

I know there's a joke waiting to be made involving CATS- the musical, but my mind is drawing a blank.

Hello there Don. Welcome to the madhouse er circus er the discussion side of CM.

Don91 -> RE: Hello all *waves hand* (6/3/2012 2:41:48 PM)

Thanks Miss ChatteParfaitt!

Oh, and I found out where my messages were, here is what I really sent:
quote:

Greetings, MissTNT, My name is Don :)

I'm a 20 year old college student near Houston. I just learned about this place today, I'm very curious to know more about this site. I've been browsing around looking at the various profiles, and I felt as though I connected with what you had to say the most. I can be a sub more of a sub than I am a dom, so you would really like someone to cater to. Being that I'm attracted to your look, and that you are around my age, I'd love to make that happen,

Just a little about me, I go to the University of Houston, I'm pretty shy, I have a job, and would be willing to experiment with you. Hope to hear from you soon,

Thank you for reading,
Don.

Thoughts?...

Would it be a lost cause to reach out to here again?

kalikshama -> RE: Hello all *waves hand* (6/3/2012 3:18:02 PM)

Not a bad start, but I'd flesh it out with something VANILLA from her profile that demonstrates why you'd be a good match. As written it could be targeted to most woman, which would explain any reporting for spam you've been getting.

Vanilla cuz being sexual in your first overture tends to turn women off. One guy scored with me due to our shared interest in yoga. Several men started up convos based on vanilla things I'd mentioned in my profile, which would have inclined me favorably towards them, had they not been disqualified geographically.

Do read her profile carefully to see if she's required you add anything to your message to prove you've read her profile or if she's specified things that would rule you out: no one under 25, no one out of state, no men, etc.

Would it be a lost cause to reach out to her again?

Wait at least a week.

Don91 -> RE: Hello all *waves hand* (6/3/2012 4:29:50 PM)

Ahh, I see, very interesting. I appreciate the notes, looks like there are things I can look out for and improve upon.

A week sounds about right, but is it at all possible to contact someone that has already blocked you? I feel like only a small percentage of the people on the main site post on here o.O

Karmastic -> RE: Hello all *waves hand* (6/3/2012 5:12:53 PM)

welcome Don. now stop peeking at my profile :)

edit, just read thread...

how do you know you're being blocked? i don't think there's any way to determine that, unless you email someone a second time, and the system says they blocked you; i'm not sure about this, so i'm asking how you know.

only email people once. if you send too many emails with the same spamish content, and/or too many mark you as spam, you will be spaminated. the system will mark all your outgoing emails as spam.

your email sounded a bit form like. i always try to comment on something related to what they said in their profile, good luck :)

But I was hoping to see some nudez :(
(No worries, just saw the teacher thread you made and was a bit curious about your look, I've been looking at lots of profiles though, it's pretty fun, like facebook stalking, only a bit creepier)

I'm think she blocked me, when I tried sending a friend request "This user has you blocked". I might have emailed her twice (I'm not sure, she was the first person I've messaged on here).

Yeah, I'm hoping I didn't get spaminated. That would be a bummer.

Appreciate the info, brother.

TNDommeK -> RE: Hello all *waves hand* (6/3/2012 8:06:17 PM)

I will tell you there is an abundance of people talking about how no one reads their profiles and send interesting or more than one liners to them. Then when you do they read and never write back. Very classy, I know but here there is a famous saying :"no reply is a reply". As crappy as that seems to Me, especially if you do read their sometimes long ass profile, and you write them a decent message and get ignored; it is what it is. I would also say not to send any friend requests to anyone you haven't talked to a few times and I don't think it would hurt to ask if it's cool to send one. Just My two cents.

LadyPact -> RE: Hello all *waves hand* (6/3/2012 8:24:28 PM)

Welcome to the forums, Don.

I think kalikshama gave you very good advice regarding the email example.  There's nothing in it, aside from the name, that shows that it is any different than could be sent to the next chick.  Make your contacts on a more personal level and your results may improve.

Don91 -> RE: Hello all *waves hand* (6/3/2012 8:30:06 PM)

I very much appreciate the input, ladies. I'll take this as a good learning experience and learn from it as time moves on.

re the friend requests...the general etiquette here is to not friend request to people you don't already have contact with.

Man, looks like I really goofed up on that part. I think most of the women I messaged don't come on the main site too often. Only one chick has blocked me, and she was the same person I sent the friend request to -_____- And it's really unfortunate because I think she checks her profile at least once a day (She has been on at least twice today). Man, I'm really kicking myself right now. And I can't even contact her to explain myself or apologize because she has me blocked. And it's too bad because I think I would have matched up with her the best.

It wouldn't be against the rules or anything for one of you guys or gals to contact her for me, would it? I mean, I know that sounds desperate, but I don't know, *shrugs shoulders*

it's not specifically named as being against the rules, but i think one could interpret that as a way of harassing someone.

beyond that, i would thank whoever blocked you for doing it. they saved you the trouble of getting emotionally involved with them, only to find out that they probably make snap judgements and might be very petty and judgmental. obviously, i'm not saying anyone who blocks someone after that is judgmental and petty, but i'm sure there's a correlation in there somewhere.

i.e., if someone is NOT interested in you, TRUST THAT as golden. don't think "if they only knew me they would like me".

TNDommeK -> RE: Hello all *waves hand* (6/4/2012 12:00:02 PM)

Move to the next one, Don.

Don91 -> RE: Hello all *waves hand* (6/4/2012 1:01:16 PM)

Haha, YES. I think moving on is all I needed to hear.

Thanks again for the advice Karmastic. But like Miss Domme just mentioned, it's best that I move on. *insert happyface*
