If so, I wonder what will come of this.

I do feel that Zimmerman fans should support this man as well, the circumstances are almost identical. White man thought black kid was up to no good...recent break ins...kid is dead...Oh this kid was shot in the back!! The break in happened while he was at school!!
The shooter is a 75 yr. old man!!!

Neither Zimmerman nor Spooner have a Stand Your Ground defense. But if you have so little in your life to feel good about that you have to descend to this kind of shit, by all means do whatever it takes.

Wisconsin does have a "Stand your ground" law, sort of.  They have law on self defense adopted under the "Castle Doctrine".  Does this apply to matter at hand.  Well for me, I would say no, some other would say yes.  Spooner first of all blamed the kid for a thieft of handgun.  Spooner never did report this to police. Nor did Spooner have any reason to suspect Darius, but taking in the trash cans is a sure sign of criminal activity.  The Castle Doctrine was created to allow home owner to protect their property, which Spooner was, he was on Larry property at the time, but he had to protect himself, Wisconsin does have a concealed weapons law allowing people to carry, I don't know if Spooner had a permit, but he had the right.  So Spooner well within his rights shot the kid, soon to gang banger, soon to drug addict, soon to be a harden criminal, twice in back.

I am sure the NRA will hold Spooner as another shining example of how the right to carry weapons, stopped another vicious criminal, saved lives, kept his community safe and proved once more that they have the right to carry guns and shoot who ever the dam well please.

One last thing, the number of children being killed by handguns is growing.

Do you ever bother to check the shit that goes through your head against reality?

I mean, not that I've seen any evidence of that, but I don't want to be unfair.

NRA is a heavy money contributor to politicians election funds,  They are the one pushing the "Stand Your Ground" laws and use examples like this to show the need guns and all.  This is also the result.

And you'll be right back to post a link to them using an example like this one so people won't wonder whether you're a liar or just nuts, right?

This is horrible!

http://www.jsonline.com/news/crime/75yearold-man-charged-with-fatally-shooting-boy-13-2i5koou-156471825.html

As 13-year-old Darius Simmons was moving a garbage cart from the curb Thursday morning, Spooner, 75, confronted him and demanded the boy give back his stuff and the shotguns.

Darius told him he didn't have his stuff.

The boy's mother chimed in, telling Spooner he should just go back inside. Then suddenly, as the mother watched, Spooner raised a black handgun and shot Darius in the chest from five feet away.

Darius ran around the cor ner and collapsed on Comstock Ave., about 10 feet from a small play area marked "Children's Park." As he ran, Spooner fired a second shot that did not hit the boy.

When police arrived, Spooner was still on the sidewalk, holding the gun. When told to drop the weapon, he placed it on the ground and told police, "Yeah, I shot him."

I only mentioned Zimmerman in passing in another thread that was not the official Zimmerman thread and I got the gold border message. I must be special.

Actually, the kid was in school at the time that the old man's house was robbed, but somehow the kid still managed to do it, according to the old man. That's some fete, considering the kid's teacher has reported he rides his bike a few miles each way to school.

No comparison you know it and your just trying to lump every shooting into the same mold.

Applying the same logic to show how ridiculous George`s defenders are is not lumping.

No semularities between the cases. Spooner admits to shooting a kid who was no threat because he may have commited a crime at an earlier time.Spooner didn't have any injuries he didn't try to get the police there before the shooting and theree are witnesses who clearly saw what happened. nIf you can't see the difference we will have to induct you into club fargle.
