Based on conversations with a lawyer who has knowledge of the investigation, "We believe that Scott Walker set up a secret computer network in the governor's office and Department of Administration offices, and that the John Doe investigation is seeking evidence of crimes he committed in Madison," Zielinski said.

"I stand by my reporting 100 percent," Shuster said in the conference call. "It's clear to me that he is, in fact, a target in a federal investigation."

Lautenschlager agreed that "Walker should have produced evidence to clear himself" if he was not a target of investigation, and that it would be "malpractice" for his attorneys not to seek a letter from prosecutors clearing him.

She also disputed Walker's contention that he could not speak publicly about the investigation because prosecutors did not want him to.

"There is no happier person than a prosecutor when a target starts speaking publicly," she said.

As state attorney general, Lautenschlager said that she worked by a "rule of thumb" when investigating wrongdoing by politicians "not to say anything within two months of an election," unless prosecutors could clear the politician in question, to avoid the appearance of a politically motivated prosecution.

While that rules out an indictment before the election on Tuesday, she said, Walker appears to be "on that pathway toward indictment."

This is the type of person servant thinks should be in high office??

This is probably why Walker's people tried to plant the phony "love child" story this weekend hoping to hook MSM into a huge gaff and garner a mercy fuck out of the voters. Too bad they got caught and had to back away.

erieangel -> RE: Legal cloud gathers over Scott Walker (6/4/2012 10:21:07 PM)

I did not hear about that.

BamaD -> RE: Legal cloud gathers over Scott Walker (6/4/2012 11:07:52 PM)

both are typical last minute smears used by politition of all stripes for ages.

farglebargle -> RE: Legal cloud gathers over Scott Walker (6/5/2012 5:11:42 AM)

Well, except in Walker's case there's a bunch of people already convicted of crimes, and they're just doing the paperwork of linking him to all of them.

RICO charges anyone?

I did not hear about that.

Walker's college girlfriend's then roommate came forward on Friday claimin Walker had getten the girlfriend pregnant and basically abandoned her. The former girlfriend denied it and no documentation of such could be found.

A better college story, and 100% true, is that while at Marquette Walker ran for student body president and the school paper found him qualified but chose to endorse his opponent. Walker's "friends" then tried to destroy every copy of that days paper and otherwise acted badly so the paper retracted it's finding that he was qualified to be student body president.

Gee, wouldn't it be neato, if we replaced Walker with Obama, and evidence with long form birth certificate?

Just more stupid shit. Nothing else, but more stupid shit. It's sad, really.

An ongoing criminal investigation that has already resulted in at least 2 guilty pleas is equivalent to a baseless racist conspiracy theory? How exactly?

Owner59 -> RE: Legal cloud gathers over Scott Walker (6/5/2012 4:58:26 PM)

If he`s under investigation, then he is......it`ll play out on it`s own.

Not going to affect the recall in two days......

The cons have lost at every turn of this recall.....even having thier fraud candidates booted.

This may be only one of Walker`s problems in a couple days.[:D]

erieangel -> RE: Legal cloud gathers over Scott Walker (6/5/2012 7:47:18 PM)

Yep. Regardless, he still may hold office until the charges come and he's actually kicked out of office or forced to resign because his backers (like servant) don't care if potential criminals are holding office).

Racist?!?!?!? Seriously?!? WTF is wrong with you? Damn, dude. Was it racist when they questioned Romney's status, even tongue-in-cheek? Was it racist when it was dropped that McCain wasn't born in the 48 contiguous states?

The comment that was made, is akin to the "if you aren't doing anything wrong, you won't mind us peeking in" comments that popped up as a stupid defense of the Patriot Act. Just more stupid shit.

I'm not saying he's innocent. I'm not saying he's guilty. I'm saying this is being brought up and the comments that are being made (making some sort of link between Walker's claim that prosecutors don't want him to comment on the ongoing case means he's going to be indicted) are speculation and are being reported as fact. That's just more stupid shit, just like the furor over Obama's Citizenship. It's a game that is being played, has been played, and will continue to be played ad nauseum.

And, when I say this next part, read exactly what I say, because it is exactly what I mean. No shading. No hidden meaning.

Regardless of where Barack H. Obama was born, that his mother was an American Citizen means he is an American Citizen.

Just on the news, Walker will most likely be indicted in the next 10 days,

His aids are turning on him, contradicting his statements, now that they have been found guilty.

Good, if Walker is indicted for using state money to campaign, we can go after Obama for using federal tax dollars to campaign... Please indict him, please[8|]

I'm not sure I could care less if the Queen has any claim at all. As far as I'm concerned, he's born of an American Citizen, and, according to our laws, he's an American Citizen.

And, that's all I really need in this particular situation.

And, my hope, as it is in every situation, is that Justice is served. Whatever consequences a guilty verdict *should* get a person, he should get if he's found guilty. Period.

dom2ownboi -> RE: Legal cloud gathers over Scott Walker (6/6/2012 7:34:37 AM)

This is all total BS, as the John Doe investigation is about when Walker was the Milwaukee County Supervisor, and the secret computer network was in that office, in Milwaukee not Madison, so the lawyer mentioned has no knowledge of the investigation whatsoever.
