Ok, so my cockerspaniel has taken to finding spots where someone has pee'd outside and licks and eats the dirt thats been pee'd on. Why in the world do dogs like to do gross stuff like that.

Is the 'someone peeing outside' happening alot, and where is it happening, in your yard?

Perhaps the dog is just jealous?

IT's usualy in the bushes, where it's private or someplace out of the way like by a corner.  It doesn't happen a lot, the peeing out side, but sparky tries that crap every time he finds a pee spot. and it Seems he's mostly interested in the male spots. I've pee'd outside and he had no interest sept to see what I was doing.

No, but the neighbors have.  Property values in the neighborhood have plummetted.

I'm not even going to ask why people are peeing outside ...

Dogs do a lot of weird and gross things. I have to use rubbermaid containers instead of catboxes because my dogs seem to think the catbox is an all you can eat buffet. When I was a kid my dog used to find dead things and roll in them, turning herself green and black with the gunk.

Dogs are strange creatures.

People who pee outside are pretty strange too, for that matter.

My dog is the same way with the cat litter, cat crap apperantly resembles the doggie version of 'tootsie-rolls' mind you she also likes to eat my underwear (the perv) and  eat used kleenex, all the better to come and give you kisses after words..uck.  Akasha is a big girl(border collie/long haired shepard mix) so when she does  give you a kiss most of your face get's licked

My doggie likes to lick his ass in the middle of the night when it's nice and quiet.
Slurp, slurp, slurp.
I throw things at him.  It's disgusting.
He likes cat poop.
And if he could get at them he'd munch on used feminine products.
Eeeewwww.  Enjoy your lunch everyone.

I thought the same thing, until I realized that unlike cityfolk (with a steady supply of water), many country/rural folks see it as advantageous to pee outside on a bush or in the weeds... as opposed to flushing away yet another toilet tankfull of water from their shallow wells.

If one's neighbors are all situated down the road it wouldn't be any big shocking deal... unless the dog caught up with you in midstream.

haha yes ND. Or sometimes one simply can't get inside I was doing laundry once and I was hit by the need to go so bad I almost pee'd right there, let alone being able to get into the house haha.

haha maybe neighbors can see into your yard but our yard is really private. lots of tall bushes lots of tree coverage. The neighbors would have to be intentionally spying on you to accidently see anything. by that I mean craining their heads over the fence or peering through the fenceboards.

A lot of dogs do this.  Part of it comes from their desire to clean up there territory with the exception of the boundaries of it/  And some of it is just because they are gross beasts, but we love them anyway...

haha if it's a matter of pissing pants or peeing outside I'll pee outside everyday if it's in my own yard. In publc naturally I'd have more discretion, all though have pee'd someplace private out in public cause no toilets lol. but that's usualy something like camping out.

I'm the least prudish one in my family lol, but that's not saying much it's just my parents the dog and I.
