I've worked as a consultant and contractor in quite a few companies and I don't see this as something the Federal government needs to regulate. The problem in corporate America today has little to do with gender, or even pay. It's the bigger picture of least common denominator thinking. Companies want to produce at the lowest cost, workers tend to have an attitude of producing the least amount they can for the pay they get. Somewhere along the lines, both sides need to give. The reasons extend out into the government and banking industry as well. You don't want to kill yourself for that paycheck because you don't get incentive raises like the ones that used to be common and in the meantime, inflation is eroding the purchasing power of the money you make. Many don't articulate it that way, but it does shake out that way. You can't make any money saving, so you spend the money, on increasingly less. From the corporate side, the price of commodities and materials increases, shipping increases..so you have to offset that by scaling back on the number of employees, the quality of the products you produce etc.

I think the bottom line is we are in a vicious cycle and until we break that cycle, things will continue on a downward spiral.

I have personally seen huge amounts of waste, simply because companies will have meeting to plan meetings and there are no goals to be achieved in the meeting they are having. Communication happens but is very poor and unstructured. Processes have too many bottlenecks, most often because of the wait on vital information to be transmitted person to person and scheduling issues being the common culprit. All of this in an era where we have greater technology than ever before.

And for the record, I've seen many women in the companies I've been in making far more...in some cases justifiably and in some cases, I'd say both the men and women in management could have been tossed out of the company with no net loss to the company whatsoever. The Peter principle applies far more often than it should.

Are you talking about the current climate of no raises for 10 years, and the common "expectation" that 1 person should be able to do the job of at least 2 people?

Or you could say, the revolution will be televised.

i would like to add that most corporations are run by people that primarily don't care about human beings, the bottom line is what counts.

Most corporations/boards of executives, etc. are run by evil, exploitive. soulless, greedy, bastards that would send almost all American jobs overseas if they could.

The few "jobs" that are left in this country, the goal is find as close to slave labor as possible, and then do whatever they can to make a profit, and for GOD's sake don't let the workers have a union!

If there are adults in their right minds, that don't see what is going on and what HAS gone on in this country, it's only because they don't want to see it.

Canadian?  Like your original rushfelching post #1, contains not a fact.   If I am trolling, what do you call it when someone writes (and mostly plagarized) asswipe that shames even blithering idiots for its lack of facts and reason, and thinks themself a clever boy?

What was plagerized? What was indicated as anything but my opinion?
When can someone not voice their opinion on the forum without being insulted by a troller?

I dont know, you are still hereabouts, I dont think we ever will lose trollers such as you.

It`s a war on women LNN....a hot war with real damage and real casualties.....

Anyone who would take pleasure/pride with this or pee on the victims for fun needs to grow a real pair.....IMHO.

Ya know what? It's just flat out not.

Women control damn near every purchase in this country. Theirs....and yours.

My Dad (a developer) told me when I was 12...."son, when you build a house, build it for the NEXT woman who will own it....because that's who's gonna buy it".

Your suits? Women are going to tell you what to wear. I dare you to tell her what to wear.

Your car? Most men consider what a woman will think.

Most women couldn't give a shit what you think about their car.

(And neither could you).

Who pays for dinner?

Would it be the woman?

Mmmmmm......I think not.

Who stays home?

Not (usually) the man.

So they get paid 77%...here's the deal ladies....when you DEMAND 100% (and stay home until you get it)....guess what? YOU'LL GET IT!!!!!!

(Amazing eh?).

Women work easily twice as hard as a man, but men typically bring home the big hits.

Blame it on the big boy club....blame it on whatever you want, but men bring home the big boy deals....more often than women do.

Is that mens fault?

It certainly must be because we need federal legislation to balance things out.

Or maybe we all just need to grow the fuck up.

Thanks for the submissive man's point of view. And that just MIGHT BE the case in a lot of places ... but probably not so much here.

It is a war. Not one waged with bullets and artillery; but with ignorance and sadism. Where have you been for the past couple of months? The GOP has been doing anything and everything it can to control whether a women can control whether she has an abortion or not (not to mention other medical proceedures).

Dude, I have to duck for doorways and ceiling fans. The cars I drive need to have both leg room AND head room. When I order tall clothing, its not because I want 'alittle more cloth' on the tshirt to cover my butt; but rather because most short people (those under six foot five inchs) have no clue what headaches a tall person goes through. I dont have the luxury of going to Sears and picking up a suit for $100. I have to travel to the Men's Warehouse, get things tailored to my size, and pay....MORE....just for work cloths. If women are going to tell me what I'm going to wear, they're also going to pay for it too! Now if women were paid dollar for dollar, the same as men (by law), I'm sure they'd be more willing to pay for cloths that I wear. Since they dont....

Actually, most do. Its a decent conversation piece, and they know guys love to tinker with stuff. Besides, it allows the guy to play "Knight in Shining Armor" routine every once in a while, and feel good doing it. I've found some women actually do know much about cars. Stop in at a Indy and NOT a NASCAR race. You might find yourself surprised by the number of women that have studied the material.

Again.....sexist comment...

Yes. She pays, I pay, WE PAY. Sometimes she pays; sometimes I pay. Again, maybe you have a very 1950's view of how couples get along in 2012? Maybe you should 'get with the times'?

Again, 2012, not 1950. There are plenty of dudes whom stay home and raise the kids while the wives go off and handle the 'bread winner' part of life. In many cases, both parents work and neither stay home. Some might accuse you of being.....old fashion in a negative way.

Take that mantra over to the Middle East countries and let us know how far you get with that crap?

If the GOP can control a women's right to choose; what...ELSE....could they decide on? Do you really hold the belief that if the woman simply with-holds sex, the man will surrender and obey? Yeah, go tell that to the women's shelters, and let us all know how that goes too....

Apparently its not enough that discriminating based on one's gender is against the law. Just like blacks were considered 'free' citizens at the end of the Civil War, but STILL, had to endure another 100 years of crap and violence to be treated better than serf or slave. All it takes is simply studying US History to understand the path women must contuine to tread to get 'dollar to dollar' pay with men.

No, I'll blame it on people with your mentality. Because its that mentality that believes its superior to all others and therefore, beyond contestion. And when laws, regulations, and viewpoints start to change (in favor of women earning dollar to dollar pay), this mentality of yours will start to become obsolete. But before that happens, I'm sure you and others will do your utmost to torpedeo the efforts; least people start questioning whether your worth being paid the same rate and not lower....for that attitude.

No, at least for the time being its the GOP's fault, that women are not going to be paid, dollar for dollar, what men earn. But nice try at deflecting the blame somewhere else. When the maturity level in the GOP (and more directly the Tea Party) increases from its current '6th grader' level to that of an adult; you'll see some good things finally get accomplished in Congress.

I agreed with your whole post except for this part. I watched the long-term federal budget outlook hearings last night with Douglas Elmendorf (director of the CBO) and the contentious questioning, the obvious animosity and just mean-spiritedness of the hearing was palable. The 'fuck you' phrase was in full use though couched in proper language.

I honestly don't believe 'this' Congress will accomplish much if anything good. They are absolutely gridlocked with neither side willing to compromise on the smallest of issues.

Even their reading of the chart graphs was painful to watch.

Hopefully, the cycle will improve the lot and we'll get people who are already mature into office and then they can get some real work done. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting because my hand is too busy holding my nose.

Bud, I'm not at all clear what your point here is but if it's that you spend more on clothes...you're a fucking giant....deal with it. Women spend more in one afternoon on a slip and shoes than you spent the last time you shopped for a suit.

Wrong again...they care if your car is clean....trust me bud....from a guy who pays taxes by the boatload, chics couldn't care less if you drive a Lexus or (something decent), so long as it's clean...and (that) you are too. You're probably right on this one, but I'd proffer that most women would prefer to stay home and....frankly...I would as well (that she did). Again....color me old school...or...sue me....maybe it's just my preference.

Maybe it's just me but, these stats (that I referenced) actually cover Western societies, ergo....I was presuming we were talking about OUR world....not Sudan. (My error...I must have missed the obvious...I don't recall this argument going over to a woman's right to choose....I must not have been focusing fully).

I don't think that's required, just a recognition of the facts. You're welcome to use yours....I prefer the ones that are indeed....facts. Women in almost every case where compared to men (exception; where lifting or physical labor above their pay grade is required) work easily (more) than men...in my offices I would NEVER hire a man where I could hire a woman to do the same job (exception; as listed above) because women will outwork a man EVERY time....AND it'll be done right!

I know....I have some growing up to do, no question but, one thing I do recognize is....women will outpace a man in brains every time (hence why I hire women wherever brains are required). Brawn....most men have it over (most) women. Is that sexist?

Sue me.

Ah yes, of course, the GOP, that's really what this all comes down to isn't it....your assumption that I'm a Republican, ergo I hate everything to do with a woman's right to choose and all that. Naturally.

I'm glad you explained that to me....being the rapist, GOP fucktard that i must be.....I'm certainly all of the above.

GAWDDDDDD.....I've been so blind.....thank you.

I'm going to go cleanse myself now.
