ORIGINAL: papassion You are talking about what should happen in a "perfect" world. I am talking about what happens in the real world. Life is not fair, get over it! I am not talking about a perfect world I am speaking about the rule of law...that seems to offend you for some reason...why? Without the rule of law what stops some disgruntled individual from imposing a .45 cal. solution on your life is not fair mindset? quote:
Successful people make things happen, Whiners make excuses. You try to neatly place all into one of two catagories...those criminals you approve of and those who disaprove of your choice. Thus your false arguement leads inevitably to a false conclusion. quote:
There are too many success stories where dirt poor people went on to be Doctors, Lawyers, executives, etc. There is no reason why a smart, hard working person cannot get an education to be successful. You are making the flawed assumption that education leads enevitably to success. So also it's corolary that without an education you cannot achieve financial success. Neither carnagie nor gates had a college degree. quote:
School loans are available to the poor. Many on here will verify these loans are only available to the poor! Every working parent I talked with made too much for their kids to get government loans. What is your point here? That the taxpayers should subsidize the education of those who can afford to pay their own way? quote:
If Bill Gates sat and cried in his beer, he wouldn't be rich today. same with Warren buffett, Mark Zuckerburg, etc. Perhaps you might do a little research and find out just how those individuals bacame wealthy? You may find out that it was from fraud, colusion and extortion. quote:
Yes, the government should prevent "dumping" of foreign goods in America. But even if they did, it would not make up the imbalance of wages between foreign and American workers. There are economic facts of life that are absolute wheather you like them or not. You do not seem to be aware of any of the facts economic or otherwise. Would it surprise you to know that sugar is a tropical comodity that a few people in the u.s. try to raise in competition with cheap labor in tropical environments. The .30 cent a pound tax is sufficient to keep those u.s. sugar farmers in business. If it works for such an assanine enterprise why not for those that make sense? quote:
I would love to see everybody making 100,000/yr with great benefits, but I live in the real world. Spain, Italy, Ireland and especially Greece are about to leave their vacation from reality. Because the germans work hard and live within their means, Germany is finiancially sound. The dreamers say because germany is rich, they should bail them out. The German people are basically saying fuck them. They made their fantasy land, let them fix it ! Perhaps you should acquaint yourself with the facts befor posting such insipid tripe. Perhaps you might tell us how many days vacation time germans get as opposed to the greeks? What their relative pay scales are? How do their social welfare programs differ? Instead of just parroting what some talking head says how bout you actually come up with some numbers? quote:
And the Liberal idea of unlimited immigration. How do you get this as a liberal concept. The immigration policy has been the same for quite some time. If you believe that conservatives or republicrats have done anything in this area please share with us the relevant legislation. quote:
With 1000's of people applying for 100's of jobs, Do you still think unlimited immigration is a good idea? Where have I mentioned such a thing? quote:
Yeah, reality again. You do seem to be having a bit of trouble attaching any of it to your posts. quote:
The illegal immigrant's rights you fight for is the guy who gets free schooling, and gets a better job than you, or worse, YOUR job. Based on what you said earlier in this post you now seem to feel that only illegal immigrants are poor enough to qualify for the government education loans.
