Letters and numbers in the same space... He probably thinks it's algebra.

Are you not a liberal who switched sides because the republicans left you? Didn't you vote for Obama? So Fox is one of many networks, just because they have the highest ratings doesn't make them the ONLY source for news... Plenty of people around here cite MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNBC, Huffington Post, Daily Koz, and The Daily Show... That's what? 9-1, or according to whiny liberals, the same total Walker outspent Barrett by.

Now, if you didn't I apologize right here, right now, but if you did vote for Obama, no matter what your reasoning is, my including you in the you, is accurate, despite my statement being quite Clintonesque.[:-]

It was you who asked the question, don't whine about the answer I gave you... You could have completely ignored my statement, and avoided this whole thing.

Nope, I'm an independent who left the Republican party when it was sold to Falwell and his "Moral Majority". As for voting for Obama, don't you recall the convo we had recently where you were looking askance at me because I voted for "McStain" as you called him as you bragged about your write-in?
I hope you have a better memory when you're in a firefight. You might have fired six shots and thought you only fired five and some punk might 'get lucky"

Grow a brain and use it or I'll point you out as an example of the academy rejecting people that they deem as too intelligent.

I didn't need to watch the link to know it was Eastwood, I just happened to pull over a Red Dodge Neon with the S&H stripe tonight.

If you get your hands on a 72 Torino at a stop with that paint, ya might want to have it taken in for further examination.

FR
Mark Helprin pronounces that in a election either candidate
could win or lose. I guess that's why they pay him the
big bucks. And since his gossipy book that slagged
the Clintons, the McCains and Elizabeth Edwards has sold
pretty much all it's going to sell he needs to have
another guareenteed supplier. Stating the obvious
is always reliable.

I think the Republicans who are seeing a landslide
or even a victory for Mitt are like Democrats in
2004. They hate the sitting president, they believe
most people hate the president, they cannot believe
such a person could ever be re-elected.
They blind themselves to their candidates obvious
shortcomings and liabilities( Mitt and Kerry have
some similar liabilities) because whatever they are
they aren't as bad as that awful guy they are
running against.

And Mitt is the candidate because the party elders
and the rank file chose him to be the candidate.
And liberal media now brainwashes the discerning
brains of right wingers and tea partiers?

The right is well served by the media in this
country. Fox, Wall Street Journal, talk radio
and countless newspapers across this country.
And that doesn't even go into the money that
right wingers pour in on the state and local
level.
There are a great many middle if the road news
outlets in the US. The networks, CNN, US Today,
etc. but to the right because they don't pump out
right wing propaganda exclusively and loudly they
are pinko communist fronts. May the ghost of
William F Buckley Jr protect the delicate sensibilities
of the average right winger if he ever meets an
actual leftist. Because if you think CBS and
Obama are the left you're in for a jolt.

Who is seeing that?

The race hings on three states and everybody knows it... Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Almost every Republican thinks thing the margin will be a lot more narrow than in 2008 and many think Romney just may have a chance.

Where are you reading about Republicans seeing a landslide???

tazzygirl -> RE: Time's Mark Halperin "Obama faces a grim new reality..." (6/10/2012 9:01:38 PM)

Florida is in hot water... and Im surprised no one has mentioned that.

FDD, I agree. I have read of three different predictions - narrow Obama victory, narrow Romney victory, and landslide Obama victory. Everything EXCEPT a Romney landslide.

TheHeretic -> RE: Time's Mark Halperin "Obama faces a grim new reality..." (6/10/2012 9:40:41 PM)

I'm not going to hunt it up, but in the interest of fairness, I have seen one bit of commentary that suggested a landslide for Romney could happen, but that was based on a speculation that the present administration will essentially suffer a meltdown.

Just the one, though.

Winterapple -> RE: Time's Mark Halperin "Obama faces a grim new reality..." (6/11/2012 10:12:29 PM)

2004 came down to Ohio.

I heard a republican this morning at breakfast
say Obama was going to get his ass handed to
him by Mitt. I've read online where Democrats
are going to be in for a surprise come election
day. So there are some landsliders out there, I
don't say they are the majority of Republicans
or the best informed but they do exist.
I also said people who see a Mitt victory meaning one of any margin.

I was comparing what I observe from many
republicans now to similar things I observed
in 2004 with democrats. I'll give you an
example.
On election day in 2004 a friend from San Francisco called me that morning after she
had voted. She was elated and said tomorrow
we'll have a new president.
I had to be Debbie Downer and say that I
didn't think so. It was coming down to Ohio
and Bush was going to take it primarily
because of social issues.
Now in my partisan little heart I didn't want
go believe this was true but certain blasts
of cold air had been getting in during the
weeks before election day. I was never that
enthused with Kerry as a candidate but it was
hard for me to believe Bush could be re-elected.
I think for the most part democrats in 2004
like Kerry more than 2012 republicans
like Mitt. I think they hate Obama more
than they like Mitt. We'll see if that's enough
for him to squeak a victory on. But in 2004
hate wasn't enough to defeat Bush.

I have no idea which way Florida will go.
I have family and friends in Florida and have
spent a lot of time there from the panhandle
to Key West. It is a very unpredictable place.
As native son writer Carl Hiasson says it's the
weirdest state in the union.
We may not know til the precints start reporting on election night. Although, after
the republican primary polls said Romney
did very poorly with Hispanics and women
in Florida. I think Obama can win Ohio.
I don't know about Pennsylvannia.
James Carville said when you leave the
suburbs of Philly you're more or less in
Alabama. And with no Palin on the ticket
to drive moderate republican suburban women
to vote democrat it could be a struggle.
But not in the bag for Mitt by any means.
