eliotRosewster -> The British saying the live in Canada (6/8/2012 10:47:15 AM)

Hey everyone.

I've been noticing something strange when talking to quite a few slaves/submissives. I'm in Canada, so I'm searching for others in Canada as well. So I've been messaging a few submissive girls who have their country set as Canada, and it turns out they live in England. It hasn't been one or two girls that have done this, more like 5-8.

Does anybody know why this is? Initially my mind keeps on ringing the 'scam' alarms when I see miss information like this. I have yet to have a sub ask me for money or anything like that, so they appear to be genuine. I'm wondering if they are just not filling out the form correctly, lazy, etc. Anybody know anything more about this?

I've asked about the subs about it, and I'll get quick responses that 'they live in England' and that's about as far as the conversation goes.

It's not a scam, it's a glitch in when they're signing up and creating their profile. They don't bother to proofread it and don't bother to go back and fix it. I'm too lazy to search right now, but I'm pretty sure that's what Alpha said the last time someone asked.

The other side is weird this way at times. I generally just tell them that their status is set to england. I know that they arent doing it on purpose ... just the default seems to switch to canada for UKers.

MariaB -> RE: The British saying the live in Canada (6/8/2012 10:53:46 AM)

I'm from the UK and I filled my profile in correctly but my location has re-set itself to Canada at least 3 times.

Deliena -> RE: The British saying the live in Canada (6/8/2012 11:13:40 AM)

Yeah I've found it happens to me as well and it makes me rather annoyed. I also find it bloody irritating that on the main profile pages (rather than the forums) I can't turn off the 'state' selector even though I can choose a country other than the United States... but hey, this is the internet where things can work and not work all at the same time ;)

Blame Canada

Ive found loads of profiles saying "ontario, or what ever" UK. The biggest one is London as i gather you Canadians have 1 as well.

Its been a glich with CM for years, i just let the person know, so they can change it.

Yep. I've had that a few times myself.
Claiming that it's just down to users failing to proof their profiles or change their location it when it gets switched to something they didn't say isn't much of an excuse, really.

stellauk -> RE: The British saying the live in Canada (6/8/2012 3:44:41 PM)

Yes it can be a problem with those selection boxes.

I guess that's why some people choose to show their monuments in their photos.

MissCake -> RE: The British saying the live in Canada (6/8/2012 3:49:57 PM)

CM was set up first with American states, then Canadian provinces, then designations for other countries and they have never gotten the architecture on the back end quite perfect so it does this. CM was lovingly built with no funds and still operates on a shoestring, so little weirdnesses like this remain. Hey, it's been well worth my investment of zero dollars over the years.

KnightofMists -> RE: The British saying the live in Canada (6/8/2012 4:44:13 PM)

It's a prestige thing really... It's rather good for one's ego to show they are from Canada. Unfortunately, these people are frauds and should be avoided. But sooner or later they are found out and called on their less than stellar character.

But take heart, when you find that Canadian... you will be well pleased and blessed to have them in your life.

That's what I was thinking. I do web development for a living, and while I love this site I'm noticing some things I wouldn't normally do with a project. My name is spelled incorrectly, it's supposed to be eliotRosewater not eliotRosewster, I'm nervous to change it because of how I think the DB may be setup. I'm not complaining, this site has been good to me.

So it's good to know that these girls are genuine and not trying to pull anything.

Thank you everyone!

Yup, we have a London as well. It's usually easy for me to spot an English girl when she has their province set to 'somethingsomething-shire' or 'something-ster'. We don't have many of those. Actually we're kinda lazy with our names 'NewFoundLand' for example. Or "what do you Indians call this land? Canada? Yeah, we'll call it the same thing"

Nothing to panic about.
The Queen isn't slipping English reinforcements across to Canada for the re-invasion of those French backed, treasonous insurgent's once the jubilee got them nostalgic for 1814.
CM is not part of a militant metrication conspiracy. Like they say, it's just a glitch.

Wheldrake -> RE: The British saying the live in Canada (6/9/2012 5:15:42 PM)

Britain... British North America... same difference, right?[;)]

amaidiamond -> RE: The British saying the live in Canada (6/9/2012 5:25:28 PM)
