When I needed a friend, that’s when you slithered in, feeding my head with lies.
I swallowed your bait, seemingly unaware of my fate. I packed up my things cause we exchanged vows and rings and left everything behind. Landing in Battleground with my things beside me, I look up to you for loyalty and honesty. Taking a leap to escape the pain and venom within, from dealing with snakes from the past.
When I needed a friend, that’s when your lies did begin, spinning your web of deceit.
So you put up a front only to protect your rump, hiding the traits you know that will break the bonds sealed with a kiss goodnight. Do the lies ease your soul? When you lay in bed does quilt feel your head knowing I am oblivious as to the deceit? When money means more then the things you say you adore, that’s when your true colors and pride shines brighter than the money you hoard.
When I needed a friend, that’s when the snake slithered back into the den, with blood so cold, a very selfishness core. A snake will stink like secrets of deceit that run so deep please go back to your hole. Cuz, that’s where danger will dwell, go snake, go, keep your graveyard love, spare the venomous lies, slither back to the dark things that you hide.
Alone seems to be my fate, so my agony and heartbreak I will take, pondering the lessons and my mistakes.
Shall I continue to seek the friend that I need to let in, so that my life can begin to be complete or will I hide once again to afraid to give it all to a fake.
I know I am worthy of a friend that doesn’t hurt me, where lies don’t come into play. My new friend will inspire my love to grow higher, cradle my heart in his hand.
Time is so short, my wish for you is the best, and in days you will see the sun will shine on you and me,
Keep an open heart and with luck on our side a new best friend will soon arrive.
