Right, I've no idea if this'll work or not. This is something like word associations, but rather than saying the first word that comes into your head, you describe the first image. No thinking allowed, no cogitating, no reasoning, no taking that second image which is more 'sensible'. Just that first image.

It can be quite bizarre - at least it can be for me. For instance:

Man - First image is always of a man dressed in fifties style. Hat, overcoat, black shoes. And in black and white - he's all grey.

Her - Some very sunny meadow in summer, next to a farmhouse, with dandelions and daisies, bees buzzing, the smell of lavender, and a high, old stone wall next to the meadow.

God - Right, this is *very* odd.

The same first image since I was a child, inspired by what, I've no idea. Maybe 'Zebedee' from 'The Magic Roundabout'. A giant caterpillar thing, standing on its back legs, towering over the house I first lived in, colourful and benign.

are we supposed to do same for those 3 same words? sorry mate, but my first images are "contaminated" by what i just read of yours. i thought this was a continuous word game, no? new word for each post? guess not.

since you didn't give yours for g*d, i would say a ball of energy emitting some light, not sentient or self conscious.

How odd.

A woman in a 'princess' dress, like from a disney film, in a dark, stone-walled room.

Man

Vitruvian Man was the first image which popped into my head.

For "her" it was an image of my mother.. that made me cringe, so I quit playing.

Damn interruptions...

Man, the silhouette of a man in a morning coat, carrying a walking stick.

God, a bright light, in a sunray pattern

No, not at all - any word or words that you like. Any that are important to you. Me, for instance, I have an entirely different image for my 'She' to that of my 'Her'. But I'll stay quiet on it for now - I see your point about 'contamination'.

Yes! That's another possibility. I know that I got Alice in Wonderland when I was very young indeed. You could be onto something there!

For which word? 'Her'?

what happens if your 'thing' for words if more of a feel than an image?

you see, for Her i feel it as being strict, where as for She i feel it as being slinky and sensual.

As if. You and only you can give yourself a 'score' - for a true and authentic first image - one that's uncontaminated, as Karmastic implies, by any thinking.

That's fine, Needles. It's often said that men are more visual than women. That could be crap, but it's at least clear some people are more visual than others. So go with the feeling - or the senses (smells, sounds, whatever). My image for 'her', for instance, was all sweetness - that feeling was obviously only just below the surface.

hmm okay

i'll be unimaginative, and steal your words rather than pick my own

"her" is my sister, and i see her and her things (memories of them from childhood).

"she" is the honey with long raven black hair that i want all over my skin. i.e. the romantic interest. she makes me feel good.

Yes, though it was the pretty version of me, in a deep rose brocade ballgown.

That is a lovely image.

And you'd look *very* good in that colour.

It went well with the slate grey morning coat man, now that I think of it.
