Fellow -> RE: Syria/Russia/United States/UN--Is Syria the next Rwanda? (6/13/2012 3:43:04 PM)

It is not difficult to understand Russian response to what is in reality regime change attempt in Syria led by the US. They were fooled into supporting the "no fly zone enforcement" over Libya, hard to ask for another UN resolution support without giving to Russians (behind the scenes) something substantial. What could it be? I guess Georgia could be what Russians would ask. It would  be hard choice for the US to betray Georgian regime in Caucasus. Russians do know and understand  the inside anatomy of the terror in Syria and they do not react on media ("babies out of incubators") campaigns. Also, Russians know well the next planned step to Syria will be Iran. They are just drawing the line here. Putin is back and he thinks Russia is global power. What side China takes and how is the most important to watch in order to predict how things will develop from here.

I am enjoying seeing a discussion concerning the Civil War that is occurring in Syria.

There really is a lot that can be discussed concerning Syria, besides US involvement.

Fellow, you brought up just what I was thinking.
The Russians are not wasting time, in putting their cards on the table.
What side will our wonderful ally China, take?

Searching for the latest regarding UN involvement in Syria.
As of today, Kofi Annan's spokesman stated he wants the
"western influence" to raise their level of involvement.
hummmm
June 13, Kofi Annan spokesman wants "western" nations to raise the bar.

I don't give a damm what is happening in Syria. We should clean up our own backyard first. Lets look at Chicago where Obama got his start as a community organizer. There have been 169 murders so far this year in the 'windy city'. Since 2001 there have been 5,056 murders in the 'windy city'. Since 2001 1,976 US forces have been killed in Afganistan. Seems to be a lot more safe in a warzone.. Let Assad and the other lunitics shoot themselves..

Thank you so much for sharing.
I agree in part about "cleaning up our own backyard", but that does not seem to be a big priority.

Why don't you suggest that the US pull out of ALL of their military involvements across the world?

Then ride to the rescue your Majesty, America has had enough involvement in Middle Eastern affairs. Aren't the Libs so proud of Obama withdrawing the troops via Bush's plan? Isn't Obama trying to get the troops out of Afghanistan?

Now your crying havoc over Syrians killing Syrians?

Maybe they are being offed by the neighbourhood watch ?

servantforuse -> RE: Syria/Russia/United States/UN--Is Syria the next Rwanda? (6/13/2012 4:50:13 PM)

Maybe we should put our military on the south side of Chicago ? Maybe, just maybe, Jessi Jackson should keep his nose out of Wisconsin and concentrate on what is going on with the murder rate in HIS city..

Servant, this thread is about the situation in Syria.
This thread is not about Jessie Jackson, you sound like an angry person.

It is said the US (And Hezbollah, Irans proxy) are arming the rebels, Russia are arming the government. I am unsure if the US want the Shia to gain power on Israels doorstep.

sorry Politesub... you are wrong on one thing ... let me fix it for ya

Changed your view from this then ?

<< In my opinion the money spent in Iraq and Afghanistan is money well spent. >>

servantforuse -> RE: Syria/Russia/United States/UN--Is Syria the next Rwanda? (6/13/2012 4:59:39 PM)

I'm not angry at all. I do have to wonder why you are all upset about what is going on in Syria while 5000 + murders have happened in Chicago. Again, I don't care what is going on over there.

And I also supported Obama on continuing what Bush started in our war against terrorists.

Did I say I was upset?
We have murders occurring all over the United States, we have many, many, many, many problems in the United States.
In fact, soon we probably will have many more problems in the United States.

This particular thread is about the situation in Syria.
We talked about Iraq and Afghanistan for years.
What is your deal here?

Why can't we talk about political unrest/civil war/political issues in other countries?
