When I used to be in sales, long, long, LONG ago, we had a saying which I think is equally true in any kind of dating/relationships search. "You live for the yese's, and can tolerate the no's, but the maybe's will kill you every time." It sure seems like you've given it the time it deserves, so it seems it must be something else. The fact that something "will always get in the way" seems to be a warning sign. Sometimes people will engage in what seems like a real relationship with someone safely far away. When that person seeks to reduce the distance, it threatens whateve fanciful world that has been constructed, and the object of affection balks... Not saying this is the case, but perhaps there are things he's not telling you. Ever thought of just showing up ....."Surprise!!" (btw, not so pissy this morning, am I?)
