Ok. If I see this in one more profile I will barf. Why does this need to be stated?

What is a game? [am I missing the boat?]  When I see that praze I think, "oh dear, this person has pour coping/socialization skills.

My computer has no added sugar. Do you save money when you shop at a mall- cos the sign says "save".

When I selected a phone company. I felt like I was "playing a game".
When I am snarled in traffic, I feel like I am playing a game.
When I try to select a nutricious product, game.

On the other hand- --people live for college ball game. basket ball.
scissors rock paper.

Filling out a government form-- GAME.

The fact is, if you walk thru the pasture far enuff you eventually step in shtt.

*steps off soapbox*   please jump in.  your observations??

My attitude is a bit different from most simply because I believe in meeting people in real life, and not through a computer. So, when I see that funny little phrase, I usually just think to myself 'well, get off your ass then and get with the rest of us'.
On the other hand though, I do know that many people put their faith in first meeting someone online ( and yes, 50% can be successful, I know this too )( and please, 50% is just a pick of the minute number,it could be higher, it could be lower, I don't know ), and then taking it to a RL meeting. For them, I am sure it is very frustrating to meet others who are not as serious about it as they are.

interesting. Well- I wont drive on a wild goose chase. I do the drive after I have an adress and phone number- clear information. maybe even a cell phone.

Who would drive 40 miles- to a place- that you dont have the phone, name,. ,,,,?

Some people are great at written, some at oral,

I agree with you that it is a mixed bag- on results of online to rt life.  :-)

LaTigresse -> RE: What is "dont play games" (6/7/2006 12:41:10 PM)

40 miles I would drive........I drive over 100 every day for work. Now 400, that would require some serious behind the wheel time and I am not giving that away without some thought OR a group gathering where I would meet multiple people.

DivaZya -> RE: What is "dont play games" (6/7/2006 12:46:04 PM)

"Don't play games"?
Translated I think means  "have honest intent to meet in person if all goes well."

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: What is "dont play games" (6/7/2006 12:51:23 PM)

Dont play games is one of the many over-used pointless things that people put in their profile.

Just like "I play SSC" or "I want to meet you as a whole person, not just as a submissive"

As if anyone is going to say the opposite?

And it's just like putting in your profile "Don't email me"  It won't stop anyone from actually doing it.

KatyLied -> RE: What is "dont play games" (6/7/2006 1:09:46 PM)

I think it's funny.  Sort of like:  I am real, you also be real.  Or, please be real.  I laugh.

juliaoceania -> RE: What is "dont play games" (6/7/2006 1:12:32 PM)

"I  don't play games" is always in the same profile and followed up with "No drama please"... God I hate reading "No drama"... it is like what you think of as drama and what I think of as drama are two different things. I tend to read it as "I want a low maintenance submissive and if you are too much trouble you are drama"...lol

Bottle line... my profile says No games... and that's exactly what the hell it means.. you want to play bullshit head games with someone.. go play with someone else. I really don't care who likes reading it in there or not... I don't like reading about someone loving to play in other peoples shit... I just over look it and move on... no biggy.

lsassy -> RE: What is "dont play games" (6/7/2006 6:45:25 PM)

yeah I would have to agree.dont play the game if you cant pay.  meeting online, well people thats the internet it has its pros and cons.play with caution if you aim to play. as well we all know when we play games its gonna get us somehow in then fact is fact.  whatever it is game or no game there are consequences i have learned anyhow of course this isnt speaking for anyone or all.  I actually one time met someone online never thought I would really become attracted to anyone that way but I did at one point.  and wanted to meet but the other somehow did not or could not due to many circumstances.
its all hard and its cool everyone has been so forthcoming on here with there thoughts and such
smiles

feastie -> RE: What is "dont play games" (6/7/2006 6:59:52 PM)

I was once told I am a highly emotional woman.  Fortunately, the man that told me that happened to LOVE highly emotional women.  But I guess how some might interpret that as drama.  Cause yanno, I ain't sittin at his feet keepin my yap shut while he waxes poetically on the merits of Nascar.

champagnewishes -> RE: What is "dont play games" (6/7/2006 8:59:31 PM)

So i guess hopscotch is out?  [;)]

Wulfchyld -> RE: What is "dont play games" (6/7/2006 9:06:26 PM)

Have you ever tried to Hop after drinking scotch?

Vendaval -> RE: What is "dont play games" (6/7/2006 9:23:22 PM)

As a general rule, I take this phrase to mean

#1 no lies (not in a monogamous relationship with someone else)
#2 no manipulation (just wanting to find out if they can attract you)
#3 no excuses (disappears before meeting face to face)
#4 no extra baggage (forgot to tell you about the unresolved issues)
#5 no sins of omission (takes anti-psychotic meds, but does not tell you )

YMMV,

Vendaval
