apparently, I am not able to use the webcam on this laptop to take still pics. I can view, edit,modify, turn them into DVDs and such, but only from existing pics.

If you want a pic off the cam recording, just play it back and press the
print screen button, then open mspaint and right click and select paste.
Instant ducklips!
You can crop the screen capture and reduce size, save as a format
The forum will accept all in mspaint.
