I really need to get a new NIMH battery charger. I charge AA batteries for my camera.

What is great brands to buy, or what chargers that are 'smart' chargers (ie know when the battery gets full, needs to be trickle charged and or when to deep cycle battery.)

I'm buying from amazon.

I want a charger that charges at least 4 batteries, but I'd love a great one that does more if possible..

gawd I read the title and thought The National Institute of Mental Health was making an announcement about 12 step programs.

I use an Energizer charger which takes either 4 AA or AAA batteries.

I don't know to be honest whether it's a 'great' charger because I've always assumed that the most important factor in the equation is the performance of the batteries you're putting into the charger. This is especially true I find when you're using high drain items such as digital cameras.

I got a fairly basic Energizer recharger, which was fine but the four AA batteries it came with developed a shortish lifespan after a while. I picked Duracell batteries for heavier usage like cameras because they feature 2650 mAh which is better than the norm. Those batteries have lasted well so I suggest getting a Duracell charger and batteries if possible.
