Tis the season for big summer movie, and the big budget, big effects, that demand the big screen and big sound. What have you seen, or are waiting for?

The Avengers: We wound up seeing this a second time, with some family who hadn't. A great ride. We were looking forward to this season kick-off, and rented Thor and Captain America, so we would be up to speed on the players.

Men in Black III: I went prepared for a bad second sequel. It wasn't.

Prometheus: Damn. The best thing I can say about this experience is that the wife and I passed a couple nice evenings with her seeing the original Alien, and Aliens, in more than bits and pieces over the years. It's easy to suspend disbelief and keep enjoying, when the technolgy aboard the spaceship in the prequel is far superior to what was aboard the first ship, but that script was bad.

Spoiler note; if they happen, please keep them marked, at least a couple weeks old, and deep enough into the post to stay off the scroll.

On calendar: Gotta see the last of this Batman series.

Planning on going to see "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World" this week some time. Other than that, can't really think of any other movie that I want to see. I rarely go to the movies because to be honest, most movies suck these days.

I'm in for the Men In Black and The Avengers. I haven't looked too much to see what is coming.

I'm curious about Ted. It's either going to be great or horrible, so I'm waiting for the reviews.

I'm sorry but Ted just looks beyond awful but I'll be interested to see the reviews.

I'm really looking forward to The Dark Knight Rises; Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter; The Amazing Spiderman... I'm sure there will be others that make me seem not quite as nerdy.

We just went to see Brave this weekend. It was enjoyable, but I felt the story lacked focus.

I really want to see The Avengers and I'm planning a Magic Mike outing with friends when it opens. ;))

I agree. Nice to see a strong female character who can aim well, but apart from that...nothing. (Kinda' stupid, really.)

I have heard that the vampire Lincoln flick is awful. Really awful.

I just saw A New Leaf with my sub. I'm a little behind the times.

We saw The Avengers but it spends too much time on Tony Stark. Captain America is much more interesting. I was sorry there wasn't more focus on him adapting to the new world he's in.

I totally forgot MIB III was coming out!  I will definately be going to see that.  If my son and future daughter in law can get a babysitter, I hope we can all go together.

I also want to see Rock of Ages.  I guess it doesn't qualify as a "summer flick" and I know it didn't get great reviews, but the music!  All that great 80s music!

I just remembered one that I want to see; Savages. It looks like it would be a good movie to see on the big screen.

Thanks.  Now I have to talk the kids into going with me, lol.  My son is a diehard country redneck, and his fiance is into the whole techno dance/hip hop.  They need to learn how great 80s music is!

The Dark Knight Rises is the one I want see the most.

Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter is next.
I enjoyed the book. Sad if the movie sucks.
I just found out tonight Rufus Sewell is
in it. I'm willing to sit through a awful
movie for Rufus Sewall.

I want to see Brave, MIB3, and rock of ages. I'll probably wait until they are on DVD.

Saw 'Dark Shadows.' It was better than I thought it would be. Very different from the soap opera. Fairly decent, but not for everyone.

Avengers: I was not blown away as so many others were. There were too many plot holes.

Prometheus added more questions than it answered. It's set up for a sequel, but THEY ALREADY MADE THE BLOODY SEQUEL! It was called 'Aliens.'

I was looking VERY much forward to the release of Prometheus.
I "hyped" myself more than the hypemachine did.
It held so much promise... Giegers sketches and preliminary work for Alien with the production company had already provided material that I thought was to be investigated in this film.
It wasn't... well.. hardly anyway.
Sorely disapointed.

Now I'm booking bums on seats for the next Batman... I'm really liking the darker, gothic feel coming to the fore.

I'm not much of a movie person, but last weekend during the heat wave I was tempted. M had a gig, otherwise I would have liked to have seen MiB III

Neil deGrasse Tyson on "Prometheus" Gaffe

First, Neil deGrasse Tyson spoiled Jack and Rose's final goodbye in "Titanic," and now he accuses Charlize Theron of making a space travel gaffe.

Like with anything, opinions soooo vary. We saw "Avengers" and really enjoyed it. I saw "Dark Shadows" and didn't care for it at all. Most recently, I saw "Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter." Regardless of how "awful" others have said it is, I liked the hell out of it and thought it was fun and entertaining. I'm not sure what they found so "awful" in it. Doesn't matter, really. I give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. Who cares what THEY thought? Who are THEY anyway?

We're going to see "Prometheus" next and He really wants to see "Ted." I'm afraid they put any slightly funny part in the trailer but, we'll see. Can't wait for the "Dark Knight" movie and we've been waiting years now for "Django Unchained." We'll be there to see that on Christmas Day and may watch it twice it looks so good. Been having Tarentino withdrawals since "Inglorious Bastards." Also, I want to see the new Baz Luhrman "Great Gatsby" at Christmas as well. And "Savages."
