Hillwilliam -> $5 Gas by summer (6/26/2012 7:59:23 AM)

Remember all the doom n gloomers predicting $5 gas by summer?

It's summer.

I paid $2.98/gallon yesterday.

servantforuse -> RE: $5 Gas by summer (6/26/2012 8:16:05 AM)

It's all about supply and demand. Always has been, always will be..

OttersSwim -> RE: $5 Gas by summer (6/26/2012 8:25:09 AM)

It's Obama's fault.

Good!! Fault him some more maybe we'll see $2/gallon gas

Bottom line is, the buck stops with the President... They either get the credit, or the blame, irregardless of the real reason.

This time Obama get's the credit... Good for him, he needs all the good news he can get, this has been a very rough month for him.

Well, as of 2011, we are now a net petroleum exporter. First time since 1949!!!

That certainly helps, energy-wise and exports-wise.

Absolutely untrue as far as gas prices go.

They tried to claim that on these boards a couple of years ago and were kinda shocked where I was able to show that while gas prices had risen about a dollar/gallon, demand was actually lower.
Remember, our #1 EXPORT is refined petroleum products.

It'll keep going down because it's an election year and the oil companies have decided that they like Obama almost as much as they liked Dubya. He's a known quantity and his opponent is unpredictable.

Nah, we'll see a rise in prices for the 4th, greed is greed after all. After that, it will probably drop until Iran says something stupid, or Labor day comes around.

crazyml -> RE: $5 Gas by summer (6/26/2012 9:50:33 AM)

It's close to $10 / gallon in the UK.

That'll be proper gallons, mind you, not your puny American Gallon.

This man remembers history and learns from it.

Demand for gas or for all petroleum products (ie plastics)?

A decrease in one area could be offset by an increased demand in other areas.

Oil in general.

kdsub -> RE: $5 Gas by summer (6/26/2012 4:24:14 PM)

When the economy is going strong and we are making boat loads of money in the market gas is high... when the economy is poor and we are are making little or loosing in the market the gas is low.... I'd rather pay $5 a gallon so I can afford a new Lexus.

The rest of you can eat cake and shoe horn into your economy cars.

Butch

ps...Now where the hell is that satire font

Sanity -> RE: $5 Gas by summer (6/26/2012 5:12:00 PM)

Demand is down because the economy is so shitty

Demand globally is up and increasing.

Supply is up because since 2011, we are again an exporter of petroleum, for the first time since 1949.
