Orrin Hatch won as well in a landslide. (rest of your article) Looks like the TEA party has been somewhat defanged

koch sucking tea baggers are fine ones to talk about electing despicable people!
lesser of two evils or ???
Considering only NY'ers can elect Rangel, and the same with Hatch for that matter, makes the claims of "leftists dont care" a lil "underwhelming" in the big picture doesn't it... to say the least.
The Hatch re election is gonna piss off the baggers, heh, tis a good day

Hatch won't lose, PERIOD and they gerrymandered Rangels district a bit which made it harder for him to win the primary but probably made it more a sure thing for the general.
(Fewer blacks in his district so he lost their support but more hispanics and more democrats overall, apparently hoping his opponent would win the primary.)

ET explain what the fuck I was talking about in the last sentence I hope that's more clear folks..

So... you leftists can excuse Rangels, let me quote the ABC News article, "multiple ethics violations, including failing to report and pay taxes on rental income, improperly soliciting donations and improperly operating a campaign office...." and give him a pass in your own primary because, your sense of justice and what is right and what is wrong depends on the Koch brothers' sense of justice, and what is right and what is wrong?

In other words, you are exactly like you claim the Koch brothers are because that makes the world right and correct in your view

Um, nope. I'm sorry to see Rangel win. I think he's corrupt and would like to see him defeated. Reminds me of Adam Clayton Powell, who kept getting reelected despite being crooked as hell.

How many in Congress are crooks?? Half? Less than? A majority?

They come from both sides of the aisle and for some reason their constituencies keep voting them back in.

Maybe the voters look at their politics and do give them a pass on their misdeeds.

Maybe the voters just mindlessly vote for that which they know.

I don't know how it happens, but I do know we won't be able clean up the mess that is Washington until we as a nation decide we aren't going to suffer these cretins as our representatives any longer and stop voting for them.

I wish Rangel hadn't run if for no other
reason he's going to be a lightening rod.
But it was for his district to decide if they
want him to represent them.

Adam Clayton Powell was a fascinating
character as rogues often are.

Yeah, I know... Some districts seem to be willing to fall upon the incumbent sword, regardless of the evidence that all incumbents are equally culpable in the mess we're in.

I should have added that it was only an opinion and you can take that down to the corner gas station and add a dollar to purchase a really bad cup of coffee.
I have a feeling that the opinion will come true tho.

I do too, if the incumbent won the primary, I can't see Harlem going for a republican, or Utah going for a democrat.

I was responding to the koch sucking teabaggers, like you calling "leftists"..
And the reason I was talking about baggers, at the end was simply because Baggers lost their race against Hatch.
Just because Im laughing at you doesnt mean Im defending anyone.

Actually, Republicans should be happy that Rangel won.

Due to his recent ethics problems, it's pretty safe to figure that he won't be chairing any prestigious committees. In other words, he'll be pretty well defanged. His power in congress is now minimized.

On the other hand, a young, dynamic liberal with that amount of money behind him could moving and shaking for years to come.
