Meanwhile, at 10:08, the NY Times reported they were taking time to review the decision before covering it.

Imagine.

According to a radio report I heard a lot of media outlets first reported it wrong. They read the part about it not being upheld under the commerce clause and, in the race to be first to break the story, started reporting before the read the rest. I imagine a similar scene playing out in news rooms across the country: some talking head saying that the individual mandate had been struck down while someone of to the side tries to get their attention by jumping up and down, waving their arms and mouthing "wait! Waaaaaaiiiiiiiiit!"

MSNBC reported it correctly.

REPUBLICAN LAWMAKER SCREAMS WITH JOY AT FALSE NEWS OF MANDATE BEING OVERTURNED
With some news networks erroneously reporting that the Supreme Court struck down the Affordable Care Act’s individual health care mandate just moments after the justices released their opinion, President Obama wasn’t the only prominent politician who initially thought the provision had fallen. MSNBC posts this video of Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-OH) — an opponent of the measure — screaming with joy at the false news that the Court invalidated the requirement. Watch it:
