Here in Colorado, over the past 5 years, the weather has been more like living in New Mexico. Five very mild winters. We normally cannot plant until May 10th. This year on May 1st, I was harvesting and eating the first spinach out of my garden. I planted in March!

I grew up in this state. I know and have experienced it's weather for more than 2/3rds of my life.

This ain't just a warming spell...


Five years of mild winters? 2 years ago we got shelled, record snow in the mountains. My family in Granby had snow in their yard till late june. Just cause denver didn't get slammed it was n't a mild winter

Status: offline 		Lots of people are selecting 'memory' and generally just not paying attention. EVERY geographic area is seeing average temps rise. No one predicted ALL THE TIME warmer, in fact most simulations predict more variability (Hotter, colder, wetter, drier locally or for a season.) to go with the general warming trends. (Atlantic Conveyer disappearance may change that, freezing N. Europe if the Gulf Stream fails.) Both pole areas are seeing historically unprecedented melting, most glaciers world wide are retreating at astounding rates, last year was the second hottest on record?, plant behavior and animal migrations are showing shorter milder winters world wide and so on. Anecdotal restricted area single season observations have no relevance! Weather/climate is a 'noisy' system. If statistical measurement and modern meteorological concepts are unfamiliar, READ UP, it isn't brain surgery and the information is widely available.
Reasonable(?) people can argue why things are getting warmer with Some credibility. (Planetary history unprecedented atmospheric carbon increase rate since industrialization does fine for me.) To deny the warming trends is ignorant.

You're full of shit.

The global cooling scare was a couple of articles in news mags and part of a book by a christian apologist. It was never mainstream science and it was in the 70's which is more like 40 years ago.

Those predictions you don't believe are turning out to be frighteningly accurate. More violent and extreme weather worldwide. Last year Dallas had about a month with daily highs over 100, extreme for northern Texas, This year Kansas had a week with high temps over 110. Colorado is burning due to a prolonged early year drought and extreme heat., etc. etc.

The more I learn, the less I like, Lucy. Groundwater contamination needs to be a big deal, when we consider the projects that will be worthwhile.

We also get the odd visit from a private fire-fighting contractor who shows up when he shows up, always buys the beer, and tells some great stories. He's said that if one of those fracking jobs goes badly wrong, he's just there to get crisped, and be a box checked off in the accident report.

I guess you didn't bother to read post #13. One of the effects of GLOBAL warming is that Europe will actually get coler due to the weakening if the North Atlantic Gyre.

Actually, it was 40-50 years ago before there was decent satellite data. Keep the ignorance coming.
