Do you really think $35 an hour is being paid exceptionally well? Not at all for someone in New York/Manhattan, certainly a great wage for someone in Kansas....

•Kansas Unemployment Rate as of January 21, 2011 is 6.7%.
•Of the 25 highest paying jobs in Kansas ($83.380 – $150,790 per year), 12 are in high demand.
•Of the 18 lowest paying jobs in Kansas ($14,640 - $15,450 per year), 18 are in high demand.

considering that the AVERAGE wage in the United States is approx. $22.00 an hour...I'd venture a guess most wouldn't mind earning that wage.

Perhaps one day you will learn what goes into computing the average.
If you make $10 an hour and he makes $1000 an hour your average wage is $500 an hour.

(Something tells me most reading this post would be thrilled to make $35.00 an hour...starting wage...

My welfare cheque is more than that and it is tax exempt.

which would further indicate that $100.00 an hour ain't so predominant...provide links).

Perhaps you might want to disagree with what I actually post instead of what you wish to argue against. I was speaking specifically about programers and h1b imported slaves.

How does not finishing college make one "poorly educated"? Is there no benefit to the earlier years until one hits sheepskin? Does reading, networking, experience count as education?

Truth is, he was exceedingly well educated about computers from the earliest days. He didn't spring from Zeus' head in full armor.

When I was invited to harvard in 1969 It was pointed out in the college catalog that "the purpose of a college education was to give the student the necessary depth and breadth of knowledge necessary to make them a meaningful and productive member of sociey."
To be knowledgeble of computers is clearly depth but lack of breadth is what we are discussing here.
He is clearly a clever fellow and has managed to make lots of money by lying, cheating and other forms of fraud for which he has been found guilty of in numerous courts and venues. He is smart enough to know that the fines for his frauds are significantly less than the money he made from his shenanigans.

And, he was very well versed in computers.

And, he was very well versed in computers.

I was at the consumer electronics show in vegas and bill gates was the keynote speaker as he was to unveil his new os.
After the appropriate amount of hype he hit the key to show all assembled his power.
The screen went black and poor ol bill spent the next few minutes bashing keys to no avail. He summons a tech from off stage and in less time than it takes to tell the tech had it running.
I saw it in person but the media had a ball with it.

Again, doesn't change that his early start was due to an excellent grounding in computer science.

My charge is that bill gates is not well educated. Which was in contrast with a post that claimed that higher education was essential for financial success.
I would contend that his expertise is in playing poker and hiring people who know what they are doing. That is how he was able to fuck big blue and get away with it.

Where did I deny that outsourcing occurs...

The point is that government can either make doing business here more attractive, or less attractive.

In that vein, what do you think that, say... asserting that businesses belong to government does

What do you think that seeking higher tax rates on those who do business does

Sanity....are you truly so outside of the real world that you don't grasp what's happening?

The world has changed.

(It's real).

Willard Romney as governor of raised taxes on businesses...

For example, he noted, the state's revenue commissioner was given unprecedented power to scrutinize corporate returns and decide if a transaction may have been engaged in strictly for the tax benefit rather than a business-related reason.....

Romney, in concert with the legislature, created new fees, doubled fees for court filings, professional regulations, marriage licenses, and firearm licenses, and increased fees for many state licenses and services. In all 33 new fees were created, and 57 fees were increased, some that had not been adjusted in over a decade. Some of these fees included were service fees, such as charging businesses more to put up signs. Opponents said the reliance on fees sometimes imposed a hardship on those who could least afford them.

Romney approved $128 million in tax changes such as sales tax from purchases on the Internet, and raised another $181 million in additional business taxes in the next two years.

And his job creation was an abysmal 47th in the nation.

Why would we vote for the party of the magic underpants again?

...And thats the official unemployment rate.

What do you suppose the numbers would look like if the government still counted those who have quit looking for work

25%? 30%? 35%?
