I was recently given the idea to search for contact in my local area, but google just broght up sites with dead links...any ideas?

Head for your local tattoo parlor, fetish shop, "wierd" part of town (wierd--not scary!), or adult book store. Usually they will have a local or regional "alternative" newspaper. Those papers usually have contact information or ads for local groups.

Here's one group in your larger area that has a pretty good reputation, from what I've heard. It may be a bit of a drive, but it may be worth it once a month.

I don't have an issue of not having someone to attend with. My best friend recently has become interested in the lifestyle as well (we seem to be leading similar lives). He would most welcome going to these events.
