Can anyone give us some advice on your preferred way to use a belt as an impact toy?

My husband is more experienced using stiffer implements (no pun intended!) like paddles and crops. We know about safe and unsafe parts of the body to hit but just can't seem to make the magic happen.

Do you fold it over and hit with the doubled leather, or wrap it round your hand and use the end? Do you leave the hitting part long and go for a full-swing whip movement or short for more of a spanking type effect? Any advice on positions?

I feel a bit embarrassed asking such a newbie question but hey, if you never ask... right?

I'm beginning to think this may just be something that just doesn't do much for us, rather than something we are missing. Which is a shame, because I love the idea of a man taking off his belt!

Hope it's ok to post in this forum since I'm looking for technique rather than advice on the gear itself.

I think it is probably going to be a trial and error thing. Personal preference and all. I knew a guy that did the wrap around the hand/long leather. Another that liked it doubled. Personally, I hate belts (I like thuddy rather than sharp).

Personally speaking (and on the basis that I make no claims of expertise) I've enjoyed using my belt on a few occasions, it's always been the belt I was wearing at the time, and I've always used it doubled up - Holding the tail-end and the buckle in my hand.

I've tended not to wrap it around my hand, or to wrap it only once in order to ensure that there's a bit of swoosh when I swing it.

You can get a pretty good impact, but it's more stingy than thuddy in my (non-expert) experience.

I actualy liked the idea of "taking off my belt" ages
ago, but Im not a belt wearing guy... Try as I might
I could never turn wearing a belt into a habit.

Have you ever tried a fly swatter?

You might find trying to hit a horizontal target easier than trying to hit a vertical target, or vice versa - for me it's a lot easier to hit downwards. I find that a shorter length is easier to control, as is a doubled-over belt - it's much easier for me to get that satisfying 'snap' with a double thickness. :D

crazyml -> RE: Belt Techniques (7/11/2012 4:36:26 AM)

Fly swatters are a lot of fun.

I'm a belt wearer, on account of jeans that fall down.

GreedyTop -> RE: Belt Techniques (7/11/2012 4:42:39 AM)

crazyml -> RE: Belt Techniques (7/11/2012 4:43:32 AM)

I have never tried a 'lectric one..

But it's going on the fucking list right now.

I'm not a belt lover, it has way too much of a parental discipline connotation to me. A belt can be fairly brutal in it's sting, and that would seriously fuck up my head space.

(I'm not saying I don't like sting, but I prefer thud as well.)

ML seems to have the technique for holding it down pat; as with any impact toy, practice may be necessary to ensure you can hit your mark, so to speak.

Enjoy!

I love using a belt, I use it the long double belt, swinging as I move along his body!
I never hit above the waist line, only on the bottom and front of pelvic area balls , penis!

Very sexy the sting makes for a great oh shoot it is just good!

mons ( oh the double belt means to fold it in two rap around hand and go for it :-)

Vaguelycurious

that is what I want to express but I still like the long way (double belt)

He is a belt wearer, also for the falling down pants reason rather than the 'taking off my belt' reason.

Thanks for the tips so far. We hadn't really tried lying down so that's something to go for.

Sting is ok. I'm a huge wimp regardless of the type of pain.

ChatteParfaitt: I don't really associate anything with parental discipline since I've never experienced (or even really witnessed much) physical punishment by a parent. I do have kind of a thing about not specifically kinky objects though, like hairbrushes etc. I like the undertone of 'domestic discipline' I suppose; the husband just using whatever is handy to deal with his errant wife. Not that I am, of course.

Electric fly swatter? Tell me more! I don't bruise easily so it'd be nice to have something leave a nice mark.

If you view the belt as 'a piece of leather' then you might just be looking for a bigger or thicker bit of leather to use. I personally never found the average belt to do anything for me, they always lacked weight. However if you take a piece of heavy horse tack, and double it over, it can get a lot more weighty, and give a much better 'thud'. It may be the common pants-holder-upper just isn't gonna turn your crank unless he's using it to tie you up.

I typically use mens belts as they are wider and usually more worn, so more supple and flexible, than any of Mine. Most of My belts are more for show and fashion so they don't get as much use or they are too thin and would leave welts as opposed to a lovely red cast.

Then again, I just get a kick out of saying, "take off your belt and hand it to Me."

In My opinion, dress belts are to light and bouncy but would be good to practice with at first as long as you watch the edge hits. Also decent for hits in quick succession.

I prefer a good, old, worn wide belt.

Single layer, buckle end wrapped around your hand, is harder to control. It's more of a whip effect and isn't great for up close hits but just fine if you are using a spanking bench or bent over a chair.

Doubled up or folded over gives much more control. It's better to get a flat landing of the belt rather than a hit that wraps around and accelerates the sting of the tip. I prefer doubled up.

With practice you can get to the point that you are able to avoid the end making deep bruises so that the rear is very red and hot during the scene but only leaves a very faint black/blue cast the next day, which I believe the wider, more supple belt is best for.

I know you didn't ask about gear so much but I really think experimenting with the different types of belts in your closet will help find which works best for you and your partner so that you get out of it what you want.

A well worn belt(as in broke in not stiff) works best for me.
Doubled over it has more of a slapper effect.

Electric flyswatters rock love the snapping sound they make.

Reminds me of the evening entertainment for a redneck.
A six pack and a bugzapper.

That tears it. Electric flyswatters go one the list twice.

This was very detailed and helpful, thank you.
