***Fast Reply....

I never considered blocking until this was brought up....and today, i discovered a reason to....ironic as it is, i do believe its the identical reason that compelled the creation of this thread....i should have taken heed earlier and saved myself a rise in blood pressure so early this AM.

edited to add...do they have an award for 2000+ posts of utter nonsense?

I think they do, it's a bronzed carpal-tunnel sling [8D]

Ok so after reading this thread I have come to the conclusion that  I'm weird. I have never blocked anyone...here...on the other side....or on any other site or IM program. Guess nobody really bothers me that much to waste the effort of blocking them. When someone says things online in a consistent manner that would cause me to put them in the clueless ass category, I just say "what an ass" and move on to the next. I even generally still read their stuff as it usually provides comic relief. Maybe I'm a mental masochist...do you think I might need therapy for this?....lol

You're not weird.  At least not for not blocking people.  [;)]

I haven't blocked anyone on this side because I like reading everything that everyone has to say, even if it's delusional.  Also, curiousity would get the better of me if I blocked someone.  I have blocked two people on the other side because they wouldn't leave me alone and kept sending me hateful mail.

There's one person I'd love to block on the board side, but I won't.  Rarely does this person say anything coherent or gramatically correct, yet somehow always manages to bitch and whine about every little tiny thing.  The word attention-monger comes to mind.  They still won't be blocked though.  I risk the chance that they might actually contribute something valid to a conversation, which has happened exactly twice in the time they've been here.  If you're asking, it's not any of you.  This person refuses to reply to any post I've ever made, even when asked a direct question.

Katy, I'm not being a wise guy but I really don't understand how one can be stalked on a message board.  After all, these are just words.

I've blocked the sheikh on this side, although there are some others that i could probably be very happy about blocking.  i've blocked a few on the other side.  Oddly, people seem to continue to write me, letting me know what a bitch i am because i don't see things their way and i find it better to let them get the "you are blocked" message.

krikket -> RE: Blocking on this side (6/10/2006 5:31:59 PM)

i've blocked only one person on this side..and i don't think it lasted more than 15 minutes...curiousity got the best of me..lol.. so now, i skim this person's messages, rarely surprised, but every so often there is a nugget of wisdom so i guess it wasn't all for nothing...lol.  Of course, the same thing happens to me on the other side..just can't bare to miss anything..i'm terrible!! LOL!!

good luck,
jimini

Hey Aileen, i too had to block someone on the message boards... It just seemed that they were a "know it all" and cruel about their replies to other ppl...  and nope, i have never looked back so far...Sometimes a person just has to ignore the bully's of the world...

BreakMeShakeMe -> RE: Blocking on this side (6/10/2006 10:06:45 PM)

TexasMaam -> RE: Blocking on this side (6/10/2006 10:12:59 PM)

BitaTruble,

My thoughts, exactly!  With one exception: I did block one fellow on this side who shall remain nameless, mostly because the profanity and flaming in his posts weren't worth the bandwidth.

Other than that, I generally just try to leave a thread, unless I'm trying to read through the BS to follow the OP's original train of thought.

Oh, and I couldn't care less who blocks Me!
; )

,,,,Threads which turn into train wrecks, I tend to ignore after the first page or two. I really am here to discuss BDSM/life...Heated discussion is fine.. that I like and debate is always cool, but once it steps over the line, I just leave the thread. Celeste

Who is the sheik?  I completely missed him.

mnottertail -> RE: Blocking on this side (6/11/2006 7:38:30 AM)

Is there a way that I can block myself?  Cause I am one of those profane, impudent flaming types.  Some days I just can't stand myself.  And message board stalking?  I am with me wherever I go, and support wont even answer me when I turn myself in......so I need a virtual protector dom or something.

Aileen68 -> RE: Blocking on this side (6/11/2006 7:43:00 AM)

You know Ron...I think you're slipping a bit because I can actually understand your posts lately instead of going WTF after reading them.  Either that or I'm becoming more deranged.  :\
I'm going to have to block you if you become normal on a regular basis.

mnottertail -> RE: Blocking on this side (6/11/2006 7:45:45 AM)

I understand you've been drinking more lately.  That could explain the false lucidty.  I wouldn't worry about it overmuch.

Gammelost -- nectar of the gods........

That put you back on track?

I still haven't been blocked...monkeys, drums and witches with panties running amuck along jello filled hallways looking for their lost hamsters wearing tutus and juggling ripe kiwis. Look at me, look at me, look at me.

Can I be blocked now???
