Status: offline 		yep rulers and or canes for the hands, I think caning was stopped on the hands because of the damage it could cause to the fingers and tendons.
When I was at senior school we didnt have corporal punishment as such maybe a slap upside the head but blackboard rubbers used to get thrown across the room with amazing accuracy

Oh wow, geeze..
Only had an issue with that once when I was a kid. One teacher thought she was going to paddle me for not paying attention in class even though they'd denied me my meds (I was ADHD in the extreme and supposed to be taking ritalin.)

Mom set her straight on that then moved me to another school, so I never got to see how she was doing after her arm healed.

Public school?
While that stuff was banned in the state schools, they could still do it in the expensive schools for a long while after. (For all I know, they still can...)

It was a state school, as in run by the local council. Was still banned, just she was a bit... uh... short tempered. In UK private schools are called Public Schools. Why? I don't know lol
