And what kind of wood would you use? I like the idea of a rocking chair that I could sit either side by side or in his lap. It's unfortunately just a thought right now, we have neither the room or the money to do such a project, but I thought i'd ask and get an idea.

I am not sure what it would cost but oak is a strong wood...my dining room table is oak and I know it can stand a lot of weight but someone else might know a better answer.

Whatever it costs, sell it for four times that amount of money and next build four other ones - and sell them too. Before long you will produce and sell thousands of rocking chairs per year and provide work and an income for the many people that you employ.

Rule, i'm not sure I get a point of your post.

But that aside i highly doubt there's a market for wood rocking chairs rated to 600 pounds, two seater or one seater.

I think Rule was suggesting you becoming an entrepeneur and have a healthy income. Especially in the US. Am I wrong, Rule?

You would probably be surprised at what there is a market for, particularly since the girth of Americans is growing.

You are quite right. I would say that T has stumbled onto a business opportunity. A little creativity and a lot of persistence will make it a successful business.

Wood? Well, you certainly can start out with wood as a material. But of course there are lots of other materials that one can use to build rocking chairs from. The sky is the limit.

Do you have any cracker barrels around your house? They usually have rockers on their front porch for sale and I seem to remember some double seaters. Not sure what the weight limits are on them.

It's not a question I've ever considered before frankly.

If it were me, I'd just put the 600 Pounds in the bank and let it support itself.

If one were to use metal supports in spots I would think that this chair would easily supprt 600 pounds! It's a nice design as well!

She means the Cracker Barrel restaurants. They always have a porch full of rockers and tables for sale, very nice and well made.

Now that is a good question. I'm assuming that ,maybe based on some other seat type things i know of, like a shower chair for instance, 2000 230 maybe? I've never thought to hunt for a weight limit on rockers.

Cracker Barrel is a chain of restaurants: http://www.crackerbarrel.com/

They can be around $350 including shipping for the military ones (which donate some of the proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project). Not sure what the weight limit is on them, and the site is only showing the one seat (and no dimensions).

Red oak is the strongest of the common woods used in furniture.

I acctually had at one time very much wanted to make plus size ageplay fashions and bed sheets and blankets and paddles and other nice little things for age players and adult babies, well not the diapers but other things, but unfortunatly id o not have the patience to sew clothing an stuff like i once used to know how to do. And i don't know how to market or anything important like that, i just knew that i knew a few people like myself were plus size and would have loved ageplay clothing that was for fat people.
