Just as an aside. Some women do have a thing for guys feet or rather the pheromones coming off them. It's the same stuff that comes out of armpits. And which is allegedly linked to reduced PMS and happier feelings in women. But that may just be due to the surveyed women getting a free hug with every man smell.

I am wondering if this (foot sweat and pheromones) might not have something to do with it.

Also: a foot fetish seems a good metaphor for seeing oneself as being beneath another.

Why not?

(Though I do admit, given angelika's post above, it must be bloody rough on the dominant foot fetishist. That's never going to work, is it? "Get the shoes off now, bitch!" There'll be all sorts of trouble...)

You know how some people just match your genetics and smell Sexy? Make babies now sexy?

You can rationalize subtle animal chemistry all you want, but compared with the rest of the body where it drips off, shoes are buckets of concentrated essence. And that'll short circuit big chunks of rational brain into blobs of sensational.

And yeah the symbolism definitely another factor. Mankind's darwinated out those who can't submit

The only science I know behind a foot fetish is the automatic arousal I have when one is placed upon my face!

Moonhead -> RE: Foot Fetish...Why? (7/17/2012 12:30:26 PM)

You don't get more excited still when you start to lick it, or suck its toes?
Freak.

Does anyone know if there is a scientific reason behind men having a foot fetish? I think I am sure men have this fetish more than women..for me it is a turn off I was wondering what it is all about...A Dom I might have met told me the same thing today so that is why I am wondering....Any answers?

Yes....(thanks for asking...I actually know this one).

It's called "footus erectus".

Let me know if you need anything else.

LadyPact -> RE: Foot Fetish...Why? (7/17/2012 6:26:44 PM)

If I recall correctly, Claudia Varrin does include one theory regarding foot fetishists in one of her books. I'd have to look to see which particular title that includes it, but here goes.

One theory does discuss the forming of such a fetish back to the very early years of childhood, particularly in those cases where mother and son do not bond to the degree that they should. At that stage in life, the part of the body that is closest to the child quite often is the foot.

Don't shoot the messenger. I'll have to look up the particular section that covers this.

Heres something I found off the web that came with a diagram which shows where certain regions are within the brain - with the foot and genitalia being right next to each other.

I'd buy that theory were it not for the fact that you don't get anywhere so many foot-fetishists amongst women, about men's feet.

Unless women are wired quite differently, and the foot-nerves aren't next-door-neighbours to the sex nerves in their brains?

I have a terrible foot fetish and I don't know why.

Works for me....but....I really don't give a shit frankly....wimmens feetsies are just fab! (Regardless of where it came from).

(Why does this comment suddenly remind me of Robin Leach and "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous"?)

There's really no difference in the feet if you are talking about nerves, receptors and such. That's why reflexology works for both genders.

ETA - The comment that I made earlier about Claudia Varrin's book can be found on page 92.
