Hello,

I have not read the book 50 Shades of Grey ( http://50shadesofgreybook.com/ ) although it is big on the reading list right now but I still remember my first time reading Story of O ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Story_of_O ) , just curious who has read this one and what did you think?

CeriseNin -> RE: light reading ;-) (7/18/2012 5:06:36 PM)

There's already a thread for this on page 2

Page 2 is so three days ago...

littlewonder -> RE: light reading ;-) (7/18/2012 8:02:24 PM)

Read it, hated it, threw it away after I was forced to read it.

wildernessbitch -> RE: light reading ;-) (7/18/2012 11:10:07 PM)

To be honest I haven't liked any of them. The story of O, The Beauty series and I haven't even picked up shades because it seems so pathetic really.

Wouldn't you rather read something that is educational, rather than fictional erotica?

Resident Sadist put together a wonderful book list here. Would you like the link?

Certainly...

One of the best resource links on the entire site. http://www.collarchat.com/m_1726118/tm.htm

Oh, and if you'd ever like to start a thread regarding personal favorites, I'll be happy to bounce some things around.

While I didn't read it through and through, I sampled it while my slave W. was reading it. This prompted my remark that " Getting into SM because you liked _Shades of Grey_ is like going to India because you like _Jungle Book_.".

(incidentally, W. thought it was crap as well)

Well I'll be damned.

Welcome back.

Milady P.-

Thanks! Nice to see some familiar faces still hanging around.

Stay warm,

I would always choose smut over documentary! So if anyone has a line on some good smut, hook a gal up, mmmkay?[;)]

I own three FemDom anthologies from Cleis Press: Please, Ma'am, Yes, Ma'am, and She's on Top. Some of the stories were juicier than others, but I'd recommend all three anthologies.

Haven't read The Story of O, as I am partial to FemDom fiction.

My ex read it . . . some asshole from the internet bought her the set on their first date and wanted her to move into this HUGE house after studying the books. Hope the door hit'em in the ass on the way out.

Anyway . . . her copy of the book is bouncing around in the back of the Jeep and I can't bring myself to pick up or even read the back cover. I suspect it will make me nauseous.

Kana -> RE: light reading ;-) (7/20/2012 10:27:15 PM)

Now, why would I read spend time reading Fifty shades of Grey when I would much rather leave her Fifty Shades of Black and Blue?

I mean really...

Except chances are you'll get some pink, green, gold, purple, and if you're really into it get some red into the mix.

Real BDSM is more of a rainbow [:D]

Really though, this hits the mark (har har!), who needs harlequin novels with whips and chains when you can go out have them for realz.

To me these books have never been worth it because they really are nothing but fantasy. They do not apply how things really go at all.

Any bit of them that'd get me hot and bothered I just gotta go upstairs and wake his ass up.

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: light reading ;-) (7/21/2012 12:40:19 PM)

I am trying to finish it. I did pay for the book so I should finish it but everytime I pick the damn thing up and read a bit I start to feel ill again.

Damn . . . I knew that book would make people ill.

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: light reading ;-) (7/21/2012 1:50:13 PM)

Yeah it is pretty bad. She asked him to hit her then cussed at him and left when he did as she wanted. [8|]

Heh...haven't we seen posts by people like that all the time on here? Complaining about how he abused her....even though she knew what was going to happen but she couldn't accept it? LOL
