Friends of mom's moved from San Diego to RIPON. [8|] yeah.

Colorado = toooo far from water!

OttersSwim -> RE: It's All Peon's Fault (7/19/2012 7:30:52 AM)

Oh but we have so many lakes LadyH!

And we have the largest flat-top mountain in the world,
We claim the invention of the cheeseburger,
We have the longest continuous street in America - Colfax Ave,
We have the highest paved road in America,
We have 75% of all U.S. land over 10,000 feet,
We have 222 state wildlife areas,
We have the mountain that inspired the song "America the Beautiful" - Pikes Peak,
We host the world's largest rodeo,
Denver has the largest park system in the nation with more than 200 beautiful parks,
We have the tallest sand dunes in the country,
We have more microbreweries than any other U.S. state,

And that's just the short-list that we have sent to Peon to entice him to visit!

Otters, you forgot to mention that coming to the US will allow him the chance to meet all the US folks who admire/respect/(lust for) him!!

*grins*

(warmest wishes and fondest regards to you and your Lady)

I have been to Colorado, Otters, and it is indeed beautiful. I think that you have to have grown up and around Big Water to really appreciate how FAR FROM WATER you are there!

OttersSwim -> RE: It's All Peon's Fault (7/19/2012 8:36:43 AM)

Yea, I understand LadyH. Some folk are water babies and I certainly cede the attraction and beauty of our oceans and coastal regions. :)

LadyHibiscus -> RE: It's All Peon's Fault (7/19/2012 8:38:58 AM)

Which is why places with mountains by Big Water are the bestest!! [:D]

LadyPact -> RE: It's All Peon's Fault (7/19/2012 9:27:47 AM)

I don't know, Hib. There's something to be said about waking up to Pikes Peak every day.

Yes, during certain months, you can count on a bit of rain each afternoon.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: It's All Peon's Fault (7/19/2012 9:29:33 AM)

"Mauka showers" they say in Hawaii. [:D]

I have never met Rich and Dark! There is quite a list of people to meet in real time... and isn't there a wedding this fall? Perhaps MrQ and the beautiful lady some year, too!

I get this... being in AZ and not at least two hours from the ocean.
Portland works for me, mountains, rivers, lakes and a couple hours from the Pacific.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: It's All Peon's Fault (7/19/2012 10:52:45 AM)

A dear friend lives near Portland, and my AWESOME lapidary guy does, too! (he's also a Michiganian!) The former love of my life lived in Arizona and he didn't believe me about the water, we had to drive to a lake! Pretty comical. We were driving some back road out of Sedona and came across a little lake, I was so excited I had to stop and photograph it.

In the world of fantasy, I have unlimited time and money to visit all my friends! As it is, I get weekends here and there. Working for a living---somehow doing it rong when I can't just make heaps of cash and take time off... [>:]

LadyPact -> RE: It's All Peon's Fault (7/19/2012 11:51:17 AM)

Not for nothing, but have you guys seen the pics of the.dark? Darcy's a lucky man.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: It's All Peon's Fault (7/19/2012 12:29:31 PM)
