Im unlikely to see anything close to that in my lifetime, thats not a complaint, but more an indication (to me) that the divide is as big here as it it there.
I feel rich in other ways:)

the link didnt work for me but.. considering that a fair number of Americans end up in major debt or bankrutpcy due to high medical expenses (where Canadians have a good national healthcare plan) and considering that the Canadian dollar is at one of its highest levels ever in relation to the US dollar.. I think those things make a big difference.. Also, Canadian real estate did not drop like a lead balloon as real estate did in much of the US.. the US is on sale right now (Canada isnt)..

I also corrected your spelling in the heading for ya..

The statement could be true, but different, more complex analysis should be used. In "plutonomy" (very unequal wealth distribution) societies like the US and Canada the average household wealth is not very informative measure. Also, the market price of the house as the most important contributor to wealth raises some questions. From my own experience, I would say, the countries are very similar.
