Today, momentarily for the first time in possibly years un-Hiding someone whoms posts I have on Hide indefinitely, it was pretty clear that the poor fellow suffers from Rule Obsessed Disorder (ROD) - this is a new psychological disorder that I discovered and named a couple of years ago.

I know that this condition afflicts several people who frequent these forums.

I wonder how it affects their life and how they cope with their anguish.

I think the only person so desperately obessed with rule, is rule. Everyone else just laughs AT.

Rule,

You see the world and many, many issues within it very differently than most folks.

What makes discussions sometimes quite difficult is that you are quite single-minded in your opinions and there is no room for an open discussion with a closed mind.

I understand that as a "super-genius" this is likely no fault of your own.
Your being of such a mind is inevitably not without some type of costs to other parts of your brain and you.

It is a bit tongue-in-cheek, ResidentSadist.

Unfortunately, a couple of people are very much affected by this disorder and cannot seem to outgrow it. So I wondered how they cope and how it affects their life.
